Great vid for both consumers and fitters, Trottie! Soon most of the new products for 2021 have dropped, and getting fit into new equipment is underway. Would you mind considering a topic I've touched on a while back, which is shaft weight progression throughout the iron set. So constant weight (e.g. Modus) vs. decending weight (e.g. AMT). Bonus if we get some info on high balance point iron shafts like KBS. Many thanks

What's up Trottie! Question...I got a great deal on a Sik putter with LA golf graphite putter shaft. However it's 35 inches, and ideally I prefer a 34 inch putter. I'm going to be changing the grip regardless. What is the best way to trim an inch off the butt end of a graphite putter shaft? Should you even do it? Thanks for your advice!!

If people understand “why” pro players line up their eyes different - inside, direct, in front, behind etc…. Once a player understands their “optimal” eye position (when you can see the line) then they can better determine length. But length comes after they understand that eye position. There is a simple process to find that eye position with just a tee (sometimes mirror) and your putter that pro instructors use. After that position is found mirrors are your best friend - that’s why pro’s use them. Video on that would be great.

Can a putter be shortened without effecting the geometry of the club?
@BuffaloNickel93 жыл бұрын
@TrottieGolf Have you ever heard of any body using two different weights on their putter? I currently have a 14 gram weight on the rear heel (inside) of the Spider X Putter and a 4 gram on the rear toe side... It has really helped me Square the putter face up especially on the backstroke where I usually take it back too far outside of center... As a right-hander, it's almost a little bit of a cut putting stroke i struggle with... Putting a heavier weight on the rear heel side (14g) & lighter toe side (4g) of the spider X has GREATLY helped my putter path stay online.. 28 putts last Thursday's Round.. Your Take? Cheers!

I think I need a change here I got a standard 34 but I think it's still too long because I'm missing a lot of putts to me if I choke it and stand a little more closer I can make the putts but. What really got me on scratching my head is you get fitted for a driver and irons and Fairway Woods but I never knew that you get fitted for a putter..... I thought I was just the looks in the feel of it.

I'm 5'7" and I was given a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter that is 35". I feel it's a bit long for me so i grip down to get my arms a bit straight, until I was told to hold the putter like the way you showed it with "cradling" it and stacking more as in bending my knees mainly. With that, I'm able to get my eyes on top of the ball. Should I still get the club cut down to 34 or 33, you think? Are there golfers you know who are like my height but uses 35" putters? Thanks
@trottiegolf2 жыл бұрын
A couple of shorter guys use 35" but not many. I think Rickie is close and he putts great. Look if the ball is going in then don't worry, if you start cutting it down it'll change all the balance points of the club so for me, if the results are good, leave it

Thanks Trottie! Another solid #tourtrucktuesday video. When I bought my new TM Spider X (chalk) a couple of months back I really struggled with the length during my fitting. I used the mirror to really determine the length and my eyes were too far over the ball with a 34 inch and the 35 inch allowed me to have my eyes directly over the ball. Do you agree this was good logic to go with the 35 inch? I’m only 5’9 and feel the industry would recommend a 34 inch. Also, not to get too off topic, but my logic also going with a 35 inch allows me more flexibility to insert a counter weight if needed into my Superstoke Pistol 1.0 grip and allow me to choke down on the grip to allow the weight to move. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks as always!

All depends on the swing weight you want as to how you answer the head weight parts of this question. As for lie angle you can do this visually based on how the putter sits in relation to the green

as a caveat to the below comment, and your "cradle" ... does your "cradle" come from a "palms open" grip - and therefore the elbows become naturally more tucked into the body - or is it the converse ... i.e. the grip is closed over the top of the grip ... and the elbows "flare" out (creating the "cradle" that way)? Needless to say that I hope there is some sort of follow-on to this (very good) video re: a putting "anchor" and shoulder movement for improved stroke.

My question is not about this video's topic. I have considered about buying the Spider X putter, but now I have also tested the TP Juno putter and I really like that feel. Which one you would suggest? It's a quite hard question because the difference between mallet and blade is huge and those are not similar putters compared to each other. Does the TP Juno have the pure roll technology?

And I don't know if you are allowed to answer this question, but when does get 2021 putters come out?

Direct comparison if you can handle the mallet then take the additional tech benefits and go mallet... more stable, you can play it with less loft based on center of gravity.... just an easier putter to use. Launch is soon I believe but I don’t know the exact date for the new stuff 👍🏻

@@trottiegolf Ok thank you for answering. I tried the Spider X today and the roll was so good and the swing was very stable. Love it!
@leifer203 жыл бұрын
@trottiegolf interested in the cradle method here. Lots of stability when using face-balanced putters with fatter grips, so it's likely more suited for that style. Question I have is if it's worth switching to cradle from a tiger-style stroke. What are the pros/cons and are there any resources for learning the cradle style?
@trottiegolf3 жыл бұрын
Less face rotation, all depends how well you time the face and how consistent you are. I’ve seen extracts from a Jack Nicklaus putting book I’d consider (sorry I don’t know name) if you truly wanna go more cradle style.... it doesn’t aesthetically look as nice but I personally like it and hole more putts with that particular method 👍🏻
