Cinematic low key lighting doesn't work very well when demonstrating product. Your black shirt and dark background makes the black product hard to see. Please use high key lighting and light background so we can see your rig.

I am attempting to build a v-mount battery charging box on the cheap, with the v-mount d-tap cables from each supplier plugged into a 10 plug surge protector so that they can all charge at the same time, each battery supplies 14.8V with a capacity of 95wh. Each battery pulls 10 amps according to the manufracturers site. Would this work? As I don't want to blow the regular household 110 outlet or burn a fuse. Please let me know.

Hello marcos. I have a very important question to which I am trying to obtain an answer to. I keep hearing from time to time that powering the GH5 via D-Tap will fry the camera. What's your say on the matter?

I’m new to v-mount. I just bought one but I’ve heard that powering the camera and the monitor with the same battery can burn out your HDMI port. Is there any way to prevent this? Right now I’m powering the cameras and monitors with separate batteries.
@MarcosRochaTV Жыл бұрын
The purpose for me of using V-Mounts is so that I don't have to use separate batteries. I want to power everything with 1 battery. The SDI/HDMI ports can burn out - it has happened to me. I don't know if this is because of powering everything with 1 battery. I think it is a matter of disconnecting the cables before turning on or off the camera as a precaution. Then again, sometimes I am in such a hurry on set that I forget to do it.

Do you ever run into issues running voltage too high into smaller things? Is it okay to run a 12V DTAP into a smaller monitor? Or if I'm wanting to power a gimbal that has a max 5.4V output, is it okay to run a 12V current into it? Or is it better to run lower voltages into smaller gear? Would love direction on this. Can't find answers elsewhere.
@Rein1s2 жыл бұрын
You never run a higher voltage in a device, where it's not supported. It will result in the magic smoke coming out. Period. Each device has it's power requirements somewhere written down. It's usually called "input voltage" or just "input", and it's printed on the device or a sticker (one that's hard to peel off). The size of the device though, doesn't have any correlation with the voltage it takes. You only know that by looking at the information that's written down on the device (or searching online). Never ever assume, that a device takes certain voltage, you always need to see the information before.

are you still happy with your fei-du battery?
@MarcosRochaTV Жыл бұрын
Yeah I still use them and they are one of my favorite because it tells me the approximate time I have left on the battery. Although, I would suggest you don't fully trust any V-Mount batterie's time left indication because it's an estimate.

@@830Video both v-mount and gold mount are industry standard. V-mount comes standard on many cinema cameras and accessories. Gold mount does have a more secure connection though, but you pay for it, v-mounts are generally a lot cheaper.
