Your best option would be to get actual gold wire - but anything that says it is tarnish resistant / tarnish free should work best!

Hi there, can you specify what you are trying to make? For making custom head pins and eye pins, most people will opt for 22 Gauge or 20 Gauge wire. If you are looking to wire wrap, you will want something thinner up to 28 Gauge. The bigger the gauge number the thinner it will be.

When you say 20 gauge wire is good for ear wires, you don't specify hard or half-hard wire. Which is best?

I don't know if you received an answer, but most ear hooks are made with Dead Soft because it is easiest to manipulate and then wire hardened with a bench block and a jewellers hammer.

I would check the mm of the hole in your bead. If the mm is higher than the mm of the wire, it should fit just fine.

This video was not what i was looking for I don’t think you should of started off with gauge size you should of started with wire type dead soft half hard blah blah then you could of gone into the metal type copper stainless steal etc... the last thing you could of talked about was gauge... gauge is the easiest part to understand.
