¨Scott, I wanna be just like you one day¨. I want to promote my own tour putter and then say - it may not be the best putter for you, this is total opposite of what most sponsored disc golfers does and is one of the reasons I'll be rooting for you in 2022! The other reason? I'm in my fifties and planning a come back! Personally I'm a REKO guy, BERG for short forehand approaches.

Oh and as much as there seems to be excitiement and speculation over what team players might end up throwing for next season I definitely think I am most excited to see how you do next season. I agree 100%. I tried the Berg, felt great, but, the callous on my second knuckle seems to hang just enough to make it inconsistent. I do use it for upshots tho, which is why they make more than one putter. I currently (2-years now) putt with the Electron soft Envy. My Daughter decided to go with the Envy, as well, because I use it. ALWAYS missed to the right (She's left handed). She now putts with the Swan 1 Reborn, and does well. Gotta find the disc for YOU!

I have to say the berg is unlike anything I’ve thrown. Scott you will be familiar with hole 17 at Morely field as I’ve read your book and I think it’s incredible. Very tough back hand and forehand. Took my new berg and threw it very high on anhyzer and was left with a semi easy putt for bird. On a hole that everyone struggles the berg made it easy. Thanks for giving me they urge to bag one and good luck on tour next year.

Happy New Year Scott. Good stuff as per usual. Oddly enough I was at my local discus store today to return a lost disc to their lost disc lost and found that someone left near one of the baskets at my most local course, shout out to disc golf Depot in SE PDX and saw it was a bit infatuated by a clear plastic Berg. They also have some of the super flexy blowfly putters, but I remembered we're just coming out when had my first exposure to disc golf in the early oughts. I then when on about a 16 year hiatus from disc golf with other life commitments and interests and clearly a set of misguided priorities. 😉 I, like many, rediscovered the game during this gol darned pandemic. I still have most of my old Innova plastic from back in the day including my trusty yellow classic Aviar in my bag and still use it for a lot of my up shots. I have sprinkled in some newer stuff, and mostly putt with a classic judge putter. I can tell that it has more glide than my old Aviar and sometimes that is good but other times it is not. Not sure I've found my consistent release putter me mould and plastic yet. Will keep trying.

I put with the DD Deputy, I love being able to aim straight at the basket and jam it in with a bit of hyzer. If I’m approaching the basket within 200 feet, I have the utmost trust in my berg that I’m only going to be 15-25 ft from the basket at most for my next putt, and I make those all day long. I love the berg it’s such an amazing disc, a definite stroke saver over the course of a round. A must bag!! Much love 🥏

I will definitely try to pick up your signature disc. What molds are you throwing or are you planning an Kastaplast in the bag video?

I use my Berg (K3 Hard) as my main putter for the same reason as you outlined. Here in NC bad things await an overthrown putt. I use it for a lot of other reasons, as well, and carry three of them in my bag. I even use it as a very underrated forehand roller disc. I'll support your tour series discs when they are available. Love your videos! Keep them coming.

Turbo putting is one of my most favorite ways to putt. It's so easy to point and shoot. Aviars, Roaches, Judges, Wizards, Madrones, Ponderosas, Bergs, Baobabs, Manzanitas, Chainsaws, Shields, Pures. Anything works with a turbo. It's all a matter of logistically feeling how the putters function with your forms.

I really like the honesty of just admitting that there's no such thing as a perfect putter for everyone, or the best putter, even though you have discs to sell. Personally I do bag a Berg, but I don't use it for putts for the exact reason you specified: consistent release. I didn't feel like I was particularly consistent with it, and it felt like I had to power up to putt it from distance, which again made me lose some accuracy. So it just wasn't for me. I use it as an approach disc though, because I do trust it as a throwing disc. For my actual putting, I ended up with the L64 Pure, which I like in my hand, and I feel consistent with it. I liked it so much that I got another in more durable plastic as a throwing putter, mostly for straight shots. In general I've just ended up liking more shallow putters.

Scott, thank you for the great content, about the variables, your dead arm has weight too and where it moves influences your body slightly enough to effect your putt accuracy to some degree. As crazy as this sounds, I tuck my dead arm hand into the back of my pants to pin it down and my putting accuracy notably improved by completely removing that variable.

There are wrong putters for most people, and these tend to be your more OS fade putter shaped discs/midrange shaped putters that are on the OS side. Sure, those discs work for short midrange throws or approach throws but they almost never work for putting unless the person is a slam putter that putts so hard, they need that over stable fade. Then from there it comes down to preference for the disc that you like. I have been using the Magnet mold for putting when the Putt'r fell flat as second putter for 1.5 year due in part to the only plastic it comes in the Soft X so after 30 hits the inner part gets more and more concave to the point the disc has no glide and can, due to the way the rim is made put more power on the disc then most putters leading to the this always having a comeback putt that was in the discs distance for easy putts. It became so bad that the Putt'r in Soft X was really only for those players who do a spin only putt that they have massive spin and no power using the spin only to get forward momentum. The first the Rubber Putter had too much glide for my putting to the point I had to do a straddle putt and do everything I could to slow the disc down, so the glide was not making the disc sail past the basket. Then I saw my brother had an old Magnet in the stiff Pro D, I used that until my further/cold weather Magent in modern Pro-D hit a tree warping in a putt. I then got a set of Jawbreaker Magnets and now a second when those wore out. I also have two Titanics in the Proline plastic with a few backups since that is now a no longer used putter plastic for the Titanic. I use these Titanic in Proline for putts where I am putting through some part of the course. So the Magnet/Titanic in Proline. I also have a 166 gram #2 Upshot in Prostyle for long putts/straight approach shots that has been in my bags since 2005.
@Geenimetsuri3 жыл бұрын
I also have switched to Berg. It's bit like throwing a brick, it won't fly past the basket. I still have work to do with adding the extra power to the putt, which it can take, without that 3-putts-from-10-meters. One thing that was missing was the softness. Is there any reason not to putt with the softest plastic? Are those harder plastics all for approach only?
@ScottStokelyDG3 жыл бұрын
Honestly I think it's a personal preference. I like the K3 because it has a tackier feel.
@Geenimetsuri2 жыл бұрын

Hey Scott! Loved the video, I was just curious what you think about new players who putt with mids, while the point that missing can cause bigger come back putts, the glide of a mid helps new players to feel more confident at a 30ft range, thoughts?
