Thanks so much for the radiator. I didn't use it all, but the important parts were needed off of it! The top tank will live on in another build! -Matt/ITG

Thanks man! Yea I've always built cars that way. Let the universe and the car tell you what it wants and never force anything. Always works out and you're happy in the end. -Matt/ITG

stock ford flatheads are known to overheat. the reason for this is because the water pumps were too efficient and circulated a lot of water. So much water trough the engine the water didn't have enough time to absorb the heat. take washers large enough to cover inlets in head. watch temp, if it rises drill out hole in washer, check temp again. After you stabilize temp weld or epoxy washers in place. I have done this on 3 different flatheads and no overheating problems. Another thing we used to do was drill holes in water pump impellar to slow down water. But since you cut out almost half of the radiator you might not have any problems.

Thanks for the input Mike. I've head of all of these tricks. It seems just running thermostats sort of does the same thing as all of those methods. I'll play with it some. Thanks for watching! -Matt/ITG

A lot of the problem on flatties is the scale & sediment built up in the water jackets from straight water without antifreeze for too many years. You'll fight it forever if you don't clean it out. Running an oil filter & cooler also helps dump a lot of temperature. They're just a crappy design with the exhaust ports wrapping around the cylinders.

Matt. Next time your at a swap meet .If someone is selling,,,,,, Big old heavy pipe wrenches. Grap them. With long handles. Makes it a lot Easyer to bend steel when it's hot. Longer the handle!!!!!!!!! the easyer it is to bend the steel. JUST A FYI!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU FIND THE PIPE WRENCHS IN ALUMINUM,,,,, THATS THE BOMBS. BUT YOUR GOING TO PAY FOR THEM. Am in Construction, flipping house and all other kind of things. So I purchase the aluminum handle ones. But scored a three foot pipe wrench in aluminum at a swap for cheap money,,,,,, take care. Keep up the great work. JUNKMANDO

Thanks Bob! That has been my goal since the beginning of the channel was to inspire guys and gals to get out there and work on their projects and do as much as they can themselves for as little money as possible. It's all about the journey of bringing old cars back and driving/enjoying them. Good luck with the Midget project, they're neat little cars! -Matt/ITG

Giday Matt. I love the saying on the back of your deadend tshirt. Where could someone from Australia order one of them. Really liking all your builds...and enjoy how you show how you go about doing it. Very envious of the lad having a mentor like yourself👍🏻

Hey Darren, I got the shirt years ago at the Grand National Roadster show from the DeadEnd Magazine guys. I looked and it seems they discontinued the shirt design on their site. It's possible it was a limited run for that show? I love the saying myself! Thanks for watching! -Matt/ITG

Don't like your Tee shirt. Crusin' is about showing off your car. I wanna see cars on a cruise. Total total respect to you as builder, but cruisin is for everyone, surely. (Stop calling me Shirley)
