Some tips: Make sure before starting this that your tool can move completely through the entire vent and out the other side. You can do this by feeding the tool in without the brush (rods only) until it can be seen popping out through the other side) If it doesn’t, (either the vent is too long or there are sharp turns inside that the tool can’t bend enough to get through) you are likely to just pack the lint together into a worse blockage. With the dryer running you can feel from the outside vent how much airflow is coming through. It should be flowing! You can also or instead: Put pantyhose around the outside vent to catch lint, then use a leaf blower on the inside (use the duct around the end of the leaf blower to make a seal)

You can run the dryer on cool cycle and then use the brush outside and run it in and out of the vent. The dryers blower will blow the dust outside.

Well that's good for vent hose. Javier opened up walls of dryer and rem oved drum where an amazing amount of LINT and even coins had accumulated. And I have a stack washer dryer. Lots of screws, and muscle used to pull everything out and clean. And replace bearing.

We have coins stuck in ours too and every dry cycle you just hear them clinking. Had to take out drum in washer and it sucked so refuse to do the dryer lol@@rosemaryhall4595

When my home was built the lazy dumbaxx that installed the dryer vent ran it from the main level all the way up to the roof because he was too lazy to drill holes through the trusses under the main level - so now every few years the vent gets totally clogged and if it's not regularly cleaned out it always short circuits the dryer heating element which always has to be replaced

That’s per code to do it that way in a lot of areas. I worked new construction in Northern California, some cities allowed us to drill through and vent via single story wall, some cities made us run it through a chase and vent it through the roof. Don’t knock the installer until you’ve reviewed codes pertaining to the year of install, because it changes almost every year.

Instead of always replacing the heating element you could just clean the vent. If you can't or don't want to then hire a company to do it. It's still less than repairing the dryer all the time and doesn't pose the risk of burning your house down

As a professional dryer vent cleaner, its totally better to use a compressor to inject pressurize air ( with proper tools) multiple times into the vent, also to keep the damper open at all times. not to just let it open with the flow. you should be taking pictures of the inside as well to see what and how much lint you gonna have to clean. they just make this kind of videos to sell you the (tools) brush. but that does not guarantee you that is perfectly clean .

The same situation with an "upside down" smiley face will always have one of the touched prongs be the ground, which for some reason is better.

Replace all Aluminum Foil Ducts and Semi Rigid Ducts with Full Rigid Metal Ducts so that you are safe from a Fire Hazard and also Replace all Washer and Dryers with all Unused Brand New ones and Decrease The Chance of House Fires. That is what The Fire martial would be proud of. 🧯🚒👨‍🚒🚑🚨👩🏼‍⚕️
