My question is how do you clean the filters? Sometimes there are coffee grounds caught between the different layers of filters.
@HeidisHereAndThere2 жыл бұрын
You can unscrew the filters, and rinse each one off.
@MichaelRobinson-wu9ob Жыл бұрын
Unless a cheap press, most will allow you to take apart the plunger to clean the screen separately
@Glockodile5 жыл бұрын
How do you get the rest of the grounds out of the strainer?
@CellarDoor19704 жыл бұрын
I find the filters come apart the more you unscrew the plunger. Drives me mad.
@leanngoeken71443 жыл бұрын
This is why I was searching... I can't get all the grounds out. So frustrating
@herbcoleman51563 жыл бұрын
I stopped using the strainer. Instead I add enough water to loosen the grounds and then dump them in the trash. Then I clean as usual making sure there are no clumps of grounds.

@@herbcoleman5156 Way less water used this way so i back that 100%

my Bodum glass is pressed into the plastic holder - can the glass be removed? i want to clean the outside of the glass under the plastic
@BarryBizarre2 жыл бұрын
You can most definitely remove the glass from the holder itself.
@Rammichi13 жыл бұрын
I just scoop the grounds out with a paper towel in the trash and tap the strainer on the trash, this looks like way more work lol.

That’s a great strategy as well!

Haaa u did exactly what I do. Just thought maybe a different way but guess not. Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.

Ha! Try cleaning a maka pot. Especially when you have to do it without soap (corrosion)and have to clean the extra compartments. I switched from a moka to a French press because of the work the moka required for less volume!

My question is, what if the french press is still hot? Can I wash it or should I wait until is Cold?
@KellyS_773 жыл бұрын
If it's super hot, you want to wait until it's just warmish. You don't want to put cold water into a hot glass press, because the difference in the temperatures might cause the glass to break. If the press is still hot and you *have* to clean it right away, just put the rinse water in slowly and try to use room temperature water instead of really cold water.

there are tons of grounds that still go through the strainer. and I have the SAME damn fine mesh strainer. Not to mention. It takes freaking forever to clean the strainer---even after cleaning the press!! After EVERY SINGLE COFFEE, when I have like 3 cups a day, I'd rather just scoop it out and wash the darn thing
@clairewiley97202 жыл бұрын
Super quick and easy, you just have to go Out and buy an expensive fine mesh strainer

BREAKING NEWS : we have a major water problem on planet Earth right now, so using that much water each time you use your French press (which i guess is at least once a day ?) is IRRESPONSIBLE. Think about how much water you could drink with the amount you used.
