Concentrated vinegar is convenient to have, but if you are going to dilute it that much (less than standard white vinegar), you might as well use standard vinegar that most people have on hand.

I was wondering that. If 30% is 6x stronger, but then you dilute it 60 water to 1 vinegar, why not use regular and dilute it 10 to 1? As an aside, 10:1 seems like a pretty weak solution.

I clearly state that depending on how dirty the job is you'll need to adjest the ratio. In addition, I use 30% vinegar beyond cleaning. I use mine for weed control and in the laundry and in those instances plain white vinegar just won't do.

I own a cleaning company and this will work 90% of the time. In those extra tough situations they sell glass compound that you can buff out with a drill and buffing pad. I would do this first because it does work 90% of the time and a lot less risk. Great Video!

This is good to know for the future especially for those that don't know how to clean glass top stoves. Mine stayed looking great because after every use I would use a pasty like cleaner I got from Walmart and these red hard sponges to clean it. If you don't clean these after every use you gonna get that build up.

At the risk of restarting Vinegargate, I adapted your advice just a skootch for my purposes. I diluted some white vinegar in a cup, used a clean sponge to wipe down my stove in the vinegar, and then mopped up with a microfiber cloth. Looks a million times better now! You're right on the money about how effective vinegar is, thank you!

I looked for, but didn’t find, a video on changing out a garbage disposal. I’ve watched a few but they all assume that you know all the basics-and I don’t! I got the new disposal 6 months ago and am terrified to try to install it. And it’s exactly the same as the old one. I just subscribed so will keep an eye on your channel. Thank you!

You can also clean the inside of the window of an air fryer that has a fold down door using the same method if you are very careful. Just understand the fryer cannot be used during the cleaning period. " NOTE ": It is always best to only use clean water when cleaning a Microwave Oven. It is never good to use harsh cleaners, vinegar, or any cleaners that will leave a residue on or inside the microwave. Microwaves are like radars and high frequency antennas. When we cleaned them we either used special cleaners or distilled water in measured amounts and carefully dried them before we energized the electronics.

I miss my glass cooktop. It's main drawback was it's slow "throttle response" for lack of a better term. But once you get used to thinking ahead you could still work pretty efficiently on it. Even if that means using two eyes at different heat levels and switching back an forth. But the easy cleanup just absolutely can not be beat. I wanted to go more "pro" sp l switced to a high end gas cooktop and oven. It cooks fantastic. And obviously the control one has over the heat is unbeatable. But talk about a P. I. T. A. to keep clean! It's a nightmare. Of course a quick wipe down is not too bad. But a thorough cleaning... Good lord! There's 21 individual pieces to disassemble and clean just on the cooktop and control panel alone! Great vid Leah! That's exactly how l used to clean my glass cooktop. Even the paper towel trick...

@@koalamama2 Yeah l honestly regret it. Dont get me wrong the gas is definitely a better stove. But it's really not worth the extra work it takes to maintain. 2 bigass heavy cast iron grates that l have to take outside to clean. Because they wont fit in the sink. 4 little rubber feet on each grate. Or they'll get lost. For a total of 8. 5 burner venturi with 5 cast iron flame deflectors. 5 stainless steel knobs to pull. Because if we're doing this, might as well get back there too right. With a corresponding 5 rubber gaskets behind the knobs to pull. Otherwise they'll get lost or damaged too. So counting all that up... Hell it's even worse than l thought. I miscounted before. It's more like 30 pieces! Im tired already and haven't even begun cleaning yet!

I have quite a few friends who have gotten nice gas stoves, and after the first few times they’ve used them and cleaned them, they’ve stopped cooking on them! It’s such an ordeal to clean them they don’t want to get them dirty. So they eat out or get take-out, or barbecue. Anything not to get the stove dirty!

There's another alternative - induction cooktops. They look like glass/ceramic cooktops, but the "elements" don't glow and they use magnetic technology to heat your food, way faster and more consistently than a regular glass cooktop. The only drawback is that you need cookware made of ferrous material like steel and cast iron. You can get aluminium pans with a steel plate in the base that'll make it work, or even a steel trivet to place other pans on top of to receive the radiant heat (that's less efficient, though). It heats just as fast and hotter than gas, although the temperature control can be a bit harder to dial in - but it's very responsive when you get the hang of it. But it's way faster than a regular glass cooktop. It's more efficient than any of them - very low losses of energy since you're heating the pans, not the surrounding air and the top of the range. Finally, they don't give off the particles that gas can, which it turns out some people (like me) are sensitive to, and aren't really that good for anyone. They aren't cheap to buy, but they soon pay for themselves with the energy savings. And time saved with cleaning!

Does this work on the inside of a glass over door? I've been using a baking soda/vinegar mix and wiping it on the door for and heating the oven to 100°C for 20 minutes. It gets most of it off but it takes 100% of old fashioned elbow grease and 30 minutes with a non scratch scouring pad to remove the stubborn bits.

Use just vinegar, spray it down and let it soak, a plastic scraper like an old credit card or purpose-made plastic razor scraper will do a lot for you there with minimal damage to the coatings on the inside. Don't bother heating it, you just make the acid evaporate faster, and mixing vinegar with baking soda just neutralizes both, if you want to do both do one, then the other after you wipe it down.

If you mean cleaning the bottom of like a copper bottom pot, any "magic-eraser" type sponge will do a great job, I use those to clean any metal that tarnishes in the kitchen (like copper mugs or light rust on baking sheets). If you have scratches in the actual cooktop, that's another story.

Oooh lucky me, that’s the stove I just bought. I’m not crazy about it either but it was the economical option so here we are. Oh, & incidentally mine came layered with a film of dust letting me know it’d been sitting in a warehouse somewhere while Lowe’s lied about supply chain/ inventory issues to create demand 😒

I used to use scraper + cleaner, it never got it all the way clean. Now I use easy off heavy duty oven cleaner about once a month. Just spray it on, leave 5 min and wipe off with damp cloth and bingo... new cooktop. You do need a mask while spraying.

Skip the vinegar, brush and microfiber, just need the razor blade and sand paper, something sorta fine, and it will take off everything, and was the only thing that worked for me. Still need something to help lube while using the razor blade, and just water for the sand paper, mine now looks new again.
