It seems like a little bit of a time-consuming process. I use the mirror trick I slide the unit down the mirror (covered in Saran Wrap) get most of the glue off sliding in a downward motion. Then I put some baking soda directly onto the unit cover the whole unit let it sit for a few minutes then wipe the rest off on the mirror, wash it condition it, and done.

What about a lace base? Every single time I wash my lace base, I get a hell of a lot of hair coming back through the underside of the lace. Washing a poly base is easy.

Don't know how I feel about dawn touching the actual hair. It straps the oils and things from the hair. And instead of a baking powder use a shea moisture wig and weave shampoo, it gets rid of smell and is moisturizing we ith aloe vera...yeah would not recommend anyone dipping the hair part in dawn, only the base. And work it in circular motion and wash it off under water. And then use a hydrating shampoo that's sulfate and paraben free, not like how he said a regular shampoo. 😮‍💨
