Since purchasing it, kzbin.infoUgkxQuBMI30VhO6fDed6NOsYftsoNa8x0UZ5 this fan is a trustworthy companion during the hot nights in Texas for me. The sleep mode is really quiet and gives you smooth wind to cool down. At full speed the fan is quite noisy but also very strong.Only weird thing is that if there is a draught from another fan, the sleep mode would speed up occasionally (getting a bit louder, probably to level 2 out of 4). This never happened so far when I used only this fan though.

It depends on the fan, her fan probably has the control buttons covered and since the motor is on the bottom it doesnt get wet, because she put it upside down so basically, its safe. Now, not all fans are like that so you have to check first.
@keepithd20102 жыл бұрын
You didn't take it apart there's no way to get at the parks that you cleaned without disassembling it. Also all the important controls are at the top and cannot get wet so you didn't show how you take them off so they wouldn't get wet. I also don't recommend cleaning any electric product with water you do not have to use water and on top of it you are not going to get everything off by spraying it with water not even with a high pressure water system. It is best to disassemble it brush all the dirt out vacuum it and if there's anything left behind use a soft brush to get at all the other debris not mentioning the oil that sticks to the blades that the water will not eliminate. Someone that follows your instructions is going to ruin their fan and have to buy a new one. Most stand-up fans allow you to with the fan part out of the machine after disassembling the correct way.

um you can just let it fully dry like 1000% dry and it will work but for my easy home tower fan idk on how i should dry it like should i dry it flat? down? or straight idk
@shopwornbear11712 жыл бұрын
@@lapque I have taken these fans apart on a yearly basis for cleaning, and I can tell you that the top control panel has the circuit board that is a pretty good place to hold in water, and you could never be fully sure it's dried once moisture gets into it. It can be disassembled and the fan drum can be washed in the tub. If you opt in for taking a hose to it, lay it flat when doing it, and avoid hosing down any part of this fan you see from the front grill that does not have an open area on. Everything below is electrical, and that also is a huge risk as water getting into that won't dry out for a long time. Honestly, if you really want to clean your tower fan without disassembling it, get an air compressor or one of those hand held air blaster guns you can get on Amazon cheaply. That will clean out all of the dust without putting you at risk for an electrical shock, or destroying the fan due to it being shorted out. Here is the one I bought. It works very well, but you have to keep an eye on the lower foam filter while using it because it clogs up quickly and can burn out the gun. Easy to clean out though, which makes this an almost zero maintenance tool. It will blast all the loose dust and hair out of a tower fan, but you might want to do this outside and wear a dust mask as it really kicks up a dust storm. Hope this helps. www.amazon.com/XPOWER-Inflating-Detailing-Performance-Eco-Friendly/dp/B086WRHRSJ/ref=sr_1_18?crid=1ZI12QZ2XF086&keywords=air+compressor+duster+electric&qid=1662399433&sprefix=air+compressor+duster+electric%2Caps%2C138&sr=8-18

I have a trashpick cascade just like the one you have. It works fine and even has the remote! But it is as dusty as all out get out. I figured the previous owners did not want to take it apart to clean it, nor pay somebody else to do it. So they left it by the dumpster. I already vacuumed the slits on the outside of the machine. And I duct taped a straw on the end of a crevice tool to get inside to vacuum the squirrel cage. That helps, but will take a lot of time to get all the dust out, But using water to clean out the machine like you did? I’m not sure if 45 minutes of sun drying or even heat air drying is enough to get all the moisture out. Me, I would spend at least a couple hours heat drying it, and then let it sit inside(or out in the sun) for 24 hours before plugging it into a GFCI outlet, I have done that plenty of times with trashpicked appliances that I have found on rainy days over the last nine years. It is very important to get all of the moisture out of those delicate electronics, such as those that are found at the top of the machine, which you had upside down.

Good tip! But I wish I should have paid extra attention to the end of her video or she should be honest saying that her method would kill the light and the setting function. I tried her way and now all the buttons on my fan are not working. Exactly same thing in her video, pay attention, when she turn it on, the lights of her fan are not on (ex: the power light) and I bet her fan can not oscillate or using the power button at all (that's why she has to use the remote control even though she standing right next to it). Take away is before you try this quick and easy method to clean your fan, make sure you have it set up the way you want permanently (ex: speed 2, oscilate yes) and then rinse water like her. The fan end up till working but the setting you had before now fixed and no longer be able to adjust nor use any buttons. My fan now is just plug in directly to turn on and plug out to turn off.

I like the idea of cleaning the tower fan with water, especially since I don't have an air compressor or a leaf blower, but I do have access to a hose at the community garden in the park across the street. It does seem risky to allow water to get into the electronics, so I think I will remove the top piece of our Seville Classics (Costco) fan. The electronics are attached to this top piece. The top piece can be separated from the fan by taking out two Phillips-head screws, although there will still be a wire joining the electronics to the fan. (I'll have to be careful that I don't put any stress on the wire at any time during the whole process of disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly.) Once the top piece is off, I'll put a plastic bag around it and seal it around the wire, with tape I suppose. This should prevent any water from getting onto the electronics. Then I'll carefully stand the fan on its head with the plastic bag (containing the top piece with the electronics) lying on the ground close by, still connected to the fan by that short wire. Now the fan can be cleaned with the hose. If I'm careful not to splash water upwards, the motor should stay dry, and if I've done a good job of sealing the plastic bag, the electronics should stay dry. When I finish cleaning the fan, I'll give it enough time to dry so that no water will be there to drip onto the motor when I put the fan right side up and pop the top piece back on (after removing the plastic bag, of course). So to make a long story short, I propose to: 1. Remove the two screws that hold the top piece on. 2. Remove the top piece which has electronics attached. 3. Put it in a plastic bag. 4. Seal the bag with tape around the wire. 5. Stand the fan on its head, bag on the ground beside it. 6. Hose it clean. 7. Let it dry. 8. Put it right side up. 9. Take the bag off the top piece. 10. Put the top piece back on and secure it with the two screws.

Zoom into the fan being plugged in, and there are no letters at all. Don’t go hosing down electrical appliances with water like she’s telling you to do- just remove the few screws and clean it…safely!

I just did this and my tower fan is ruined now. We had a DREO wifi tower fan that worked great until I did exactly what was shown in this video.

This is a straight up dangerous thing to do. Water and electricity like this DO NOT MIX SAFELY. Aren't people taught basic stuff like this anymore? Aside from safety concerns you'll likely ruin the fan. This lady means well but she's ignorant. Reminds me of back when electricity was first introduced, people were electrocuting themselves or burning down their homes on a regular basis because they'd do things like this.

It’s up to you , don’t do it if you don’t want to , no one is forcing anyone here , people are free to decoy to do it or not . It’s a personal choice, but honestly if you let it dry for at least 4 hours in a sunny day nothing will hapoen

Eliana valencia yes don’t be afraid and try it ... it work in most of the fans including the ones that are round , just haven’t had the chance to do a video... but make sure it dries

@zmhhdez75114 жыл бұрын
pavy415 no worries , mine is not big either ... the first I did was outside my apartment that many other tenants started to do the same ... so you need very little space, but most definitely you need a hose.

Please be careful doing this. I know you mean very well and it’s awesome you are trying to save others time with this method, but in Hindsight it is REALLY bad for the fan. No matter if it’s a manual controlled or electronic controlled like in the video, the water and any of the components in the fan will rust and cause it to fail even quicker. If you can, take it apart. If you can’t, might as well throw away or donate and buy one you can take apart.
@zmhhdez75113 жыл бұрын
I don’t agree with you , but you don’t need to do it if you don’t want to … I done my fan several times and I haven’t had any issues with it.
