hey man 12 years later and you taught me how to work a gate. thank you!

The low cut and high shelf isn't like an EQ facility, rather it determines what the gate listens to when it opens. In a drum kit, this could be used to take the highs out of the snare mic so the hi-hat doesn't trigger the gate but the sound of the snare would be unaffected.

good info i am in the phillippines and doing anything with out a fan is pretty much impossible so i always have some hiss in the vocal tracks. this trick took most of it out so it is very usable any tips on making my voice better lol

The noise when a mic is near a speaker is feedback. You can't put a mic near speakers...if you are using them to hear your voice when you sing, turn them away from your mic and turn the volume down low. If not, turn them off when singing.

How do I use it as a bus send so it's active while recording? I'm still getting noise from my audio interface when I try using it on a bus

We're still using sonar in 2020 Holding on.

Sorry about the pops...I was using a USB headset with the built in mic...not the best for keeping the pops out...but you have to jump through some hoops to record the screen, record the sound from the computer, and record a voice mic at the same time :)

You can get software to eliminate a vocal from a track, but it usually isn't good enough for any professional applications. You are better off using a karaoke track if there is one. I think the program Melodyne will accomplish this, although it is fairly expensive, and there's a learning curve.

I'm having a problem with random audio pops when running Sonar 8.5 in Windows 7 64 bit. If I'm recording audio, they get recorded. I've heard there is a setting that will eliminate this. Do you know what that is or have any suggestions? Thanks.

@cdig20009 жыл бұрын
Hey Donnie...Thanks for the email! Could you put your complete session in a dropbox folder so I can download it and see what you have? Also, send one of your mixes that "suck" so I can see how that's going. My email now is DannyJMusic@Gmail.com, the one on the video doesn't work anymore. I'd love to work with you!
