About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies.

This one cracked me up!!!!! It's like saying a baby is one year old the day they are born...nope a whole year has to go by until they are celebrating their " first anniversary"....then another year goes by and they celebrate their "second anniversary". So you two have been married for 17 years until your anniversary date gets here and THEN on that day, you will be celebrating your "18th birthday"!!! Love you both, and I know Stacy, you will never pick me for HH of the Month now, but I had to try and it explain it in a way you would understand LOL!!!!!

This will be your 18 year anniversary. It is 8 days before my wife and I's 18th anniversary (12-20-1999). The trick I use to remember how long we have been married is to add 1 to the year and the last two numbers of that will be the years that you have been married. (2017 + 1 = 2018 - 2000 = 18) Crazy way to get to it but it works for me. Have a great rest of your weekend.

18 years...teehee you guys are cute. I would use baking soda with lemon juice diluted in water for my stove. Like a tablespoon of baking soda and the same with lemon juice. Less scrubbing, cleans pure and natural, hot cold doesn't matter, except the comfort level of one's touch to the stove. I clean all my stainless that way. Doug was outta breath there, working way to hard to clean the beauty. Lol, if I thought cleaning my stove was going to be that hard I wouldn't buy one like it. work smarter not harder in some cases! A big shout out from NM, great video!

I'm curious how you clean the rest of the stove. It always looks so clean and shiny. Do you just wipe it down? We had an old parlor woodstove when I was growing up and it took on a sort of gray color from all the dust and ash. How do you keep the black so shiny?

Maggie is growing so fast! Really good tips on cleaning the stove top. WD40, hmm....I have used it to clean metal before, it wasn't so close to my food. I know it dries fast, I guess even if it leaves any residue your food doesn't actually contact the stove top.

There are a lot more choices of wood cook stove now. My favorite is the Kitchen Queen Grand Comfort. But it is too big for my space, so I went with the Kitchen Queen Hearth Master 240. Just lit the first fire in it two days ago. Loving it so far - cooked on it yesterday and today and the cabin is warm and toasty. It is a much more pleasant heat then using electric heaters. @@LacyO86

Ok funny. Married the 12th of December 1999. My daughter was born the 11th of December 1997. She will turn 20 this year. So take away two years from 20 and you have 18years. But I also add time to my birth age. I mean you was alive while inside of the mom and when you come out you are already over 9months old so really when born you are 9 to 10 months old, not "new" my daughter has always got onto me for that. Great video. Thanks

Good video. In the manufacturing world, what you’re doing is called “graining” it gives it a lateral pattern that gives it an appealing look of “hand polished” doing multiple circles gives more of a “DA Sanded” look. Both are good looks, but there has to be a dicipline to one or the other for consistency.
