Thanks Deb, Good video. It never fails someone ALWAYS want to talk when you are in the middle of doing a project...lol Sorry we missed you when we went to the Truck Camper Rally at Q in February2024. We love our new (to us) AF1140 Truck Camper, you did a GREAT inspection for us and you are the reason we bought it!!! Also saw you in Creativity RV video, girl you get around...lol Be safe out there, hope to see ya on the road!!

Very informative video. Thank you! We have Dometic Penguin II A/Cs. Can you create a video sometime that shows how to electrically test the A/C functionality? I’m particularly curious about freezing even when the sensor is inserted in the coils.

Ok, I will add it to my white board and make a video! Thank you!

Hey there! Thanks for the video! I've found that it's not necessary to remove the screws for the side panels or the ones in the front center of the unit (the two screws that hold the plastic control board assembly). I only remove the screws that hold the panel that runs from the top to the front.

Ok thanks for the input!! Thanks for watching too.

Yet another awesome job and video Debbie! I appreciate your videos friend!! We are looking for a video about replacing the slide out seal, hope you have one! 😊
@debsrvservices8 ай бұрын
Ha no I don’t! The blade seal is something I haven’t done. Apparently they are a pain in the ars because you have to line them perfectly. I watched a tech do it and you have to buy a large amount of seal then cut it to match exactly. There are teeth like gaps in it. Then the blade sticks to the wall of the Rv. If it is a bulb seal it is easier.

Deb, you are very impressive! Thank you for this video. I too first learned of you (I think) on Robin’s KZbin! I personally would love for our very handy son to learn how to be a mobile RV Tech. Have a great day!

Thank you so much! It would be great if he was Interested in the trade. We can sure use a lot more mobile RV techs.

My ac shroud had a wasp nest in it. What a fun surprise to find when on a roof with no escape! Lol

Eeeeek!! That would freak me out! Ha!

Hi Deb, I am a little confused as to how that AC works. My main question is how does the air go through it if that one side is completely covered? thanks
@debsrvservices2 ай бұрын
Do you mean on the top where one side is covered? One side brings air in then it cools it and blows it out through the vents.
@MTNurse2 ай бұрын
@@debsrvservices But how can the air get in or out if the vent is completely covered like that? thx

Thank you for this…I may give it a try. Worried because the ac I want to clean is surrounded by solar panels, so not sure how much room I have to work up there. 👍
@debsrvservices8 ай бұрын
Oh that’s a tough one! The only downside to solar is no room on the roof! Ha

I seem to have an abundance of spiders visit my bedroom this summer. I have an a/c unit above my bed. Could they be getting in through a/c unit?
@debsrvservices3 ай бұрын
Hmmmm, is there a tree above your RV? It is possible but if the AC is running I doubt it. There are so many ways they can get through. Does your bedroom have a slide out? I would look for gaps underneath the RV.

Hi Deb! I don’t know all about screws but I had a stripped screw and so I abandoned the project😮What is your go-to place for parts? Every time I try to find something for my 2020 Class C it’s a struggle. LOL What type of screw is for AC shroud without having to drive to a dealer or hardware store (Amazon). Stainless? #8? I find I’m spending so much time trying to find correct parts all the time. Thanks!
@debsrvservices5 ай бұрын
Hmmmm, I usually check with some of our other techs and find parts that way. Because I mainly do inspections I don’t order tons of parts. If I have a good website I will make a post about it for you. Thanks!
@briangauthier19828 ай бұрын
Great job! You make it look easy! What’s the going rate rates to clean?
@debsrvservices8 ай бұрын
Anywhere from $125 - $150 depending on the tech hourly rate.

Where does the dirt from the coils go?
@debsrvservices4 ай бұрын
I use the cap with the little bristle brush to scrape off loose dirt before and after I spray. That picks up most of the dirt and debris.

Thank you

That screw you thought was stripped isn’t stripped they have wing nuts in the back holding the control box…the wing nut is spinning…Those didn’t look that dirty do you feel cleaning them helped?

This client gets her AC serviced every year for prevention so it wasn’t as dirty as other but still had dog hair and debris. Thank you for the comment!

I forgot to put the sensor back in. However, it is also can be done from the inside. Aske me how I know…. 😂

I assume because this is an old AC, that u have a sensor to worry about here? Never seen anyone clean an AC on newer RV's talk about any sensor 🤔. (And because I haven't done mine yet for first time, I'm a bit clueless lol) 🍻
@debsrvservices8 ай бұрын
Haha! This is a 2021 RV so it isn’t very old. They are on most of the AC’s I clean. I am not an AC expert so some types may have the sensors placed differently.

Something to think about before removing the roof AC cover, inspect it real well for possible bee nests, stand back and observe the cover for a few min's to see if there are any bees hovering around it. I had an old 24 that I owned for a short time, it had a water leak around the edge into the inside, so I thought it was going to be an easy fix, just pop off the cover and reseal the area, I removed the cover and without even glancing into the cover after I removed it I set it upside down behind me,,,,,,,,,,,, I'm sure you can do the math on the next series of events, cover was between the ladder and me with the nest pointed skyward with about a million bees coming out for revenge, I tried to slide off the back of the RV to the spare tire,,,,,,, Peter Pan I ain.t, almost broke a leg and my lower back,,,,, But I didn't get stung if that's any good side to it.
@debsrvservices8 ай бұрын
That would freak me out! I would probably fall right off the roof. Once something happens once you never let it happen again😂 Thanks for the tip!!
