I am performing the first descale after 6 months from purchase. While dealing with the water tank I have removed the floating plastic (I believed it has something to do with the water filtering ) and after that the tank wasn't recognized anymore. So, for anyone who has this issue: DO NOT remove the floating round plastic, it can stay there during descaling. Thank you for this tutorial. Also, once it starts, for almost 5 minutes it was just doing sounds and looked like nothing happened. But after it will start the entire process.

the floating round plastic is there to measure the water level ... never remove it.

The small black disc you see in the water tank serves as a water level sensor. Please refrain from attempting to remove it, as it plays a crucial role to turn on turn off the machine...

How come on the main part inside coffee machine is marked as no water meaning it should not be washed but you washed it? Is it ok to wash all parts?

you can wash it, just not in the dishwasher. Splash it gently :) it's in the manual also.

With the EQ 300, we find that it is not necessary to wait until there are no coffee beans in the machine. Based on our experience, the calc 'n clean process works effectively even when there are coffee beans present.
