How to clean and grease the Stepcraft CNC

Fantastic - simple solutions are always the best. Can I suggest as a cleaning alternative that engine degreaser cleans the rails and lead screw like magic. I normally use it to clean the resin off my saw blades and thought to use to remove the grease on my Stepcraft and "wow!!". Do you (or anyone else) have any comment on using PTFE dry lubricant as an alternative to the grease?

Hi, I appreciate this is a bit of an open question dependent on the work being done and material being used but what would you estimate the number of hours of use before cleaning/retreading is required?

How did you set up the machine to move by a key press?

The shortcuts for UCCNC are Left/Right arrow keys move X Axis, Up/Down Arrow Keys move Y Axis and Pg Up/Down keys move the Z axis. Holding Shift key while press those buttons moves the axis at full speed

It is probably either 1 of 2 reasons. 1) This person is a hater because he doesn't have the intelligence to run the machine properly. 2) This person is a competitor cnc company that wishes they could make a fine tool at this price point. Still no good reason to Stepcraft 1 year later, GET A LIFE DUDE !!
