Due to the amount of people asking about cleaning and maintaining kennels. I put together a video. Also this video shows the new outdoor dog kennel decking design.

The flooring is a plastic grating that we get from a private distributor. All of the plastic flooring is removable for easy cleaning.

To clean under the kennel use a pond liner that you can poll in and out easy For the floor mat you can use gym rubber mats it comes in a rolê easy to clean 👍🏼

First off I love the design you do this is one of the best and easiest designs I have seen for comfort and cleanliness. For your trays.... ill tell you what I am considering as an option for my kennels... Ive been thinking about doing metal trays. They arent very light weight but what im thinking about doing is building a PT 2x2 frame for sheets of metal roofing. And building it so that the slide rails have 1.25" of fall which would allow urine and water to run off. Let me know your thoughts.... like I said, its not what some might call "light weight" but it is cost effective. Just rip PT 2x4 in half and build your frame... then lay 2 sheets of tin on top.

Bro I made trays with 4x8 shower panels . I used 1x1 treated wood and used liquid nail around Perimeter. Make sure you put a good size water proof Silicone bead .I put pee pads underneath them when it’s time to clean I just slide it out from up underneath the kennels dispose of the pee pads , clean Everything slide them back underneath .but my kennel are in the finished basement not outside. I have fresh air coming in and air going out on a timer. Works great

Put a plastic tarp under the kennel stake it down! When it needs to be cleaned pull it out and clean it! Cheap and simple

I think it might be a good idea if somehow you could get some trays fabricated with a handles and wheels so that the trays could be pulled from under the kennel .

Have you found out a tray system that works for you? I saw a guy on KZbin who put metal roofing at an angle under his hunting dogs raised kennel. The waste would run down to the back to a septic system he set up. I'm not sure how well it worked but I was interested in trying it out. It probably works well in combination of pressure washing it.

I'd be interested in seeing if tarp/tin would be an option for underneath. Hooks at top in the front to elevate so fluids would drain to the back. Hooks at the bottom in the back just to keep the decline secure. Then time to clean only thing left on tarp is solids. Can dump at preferred spot, power wash clean? Reasonably inexpensive.

So can use a metal roof for trays for the under the kennel. Have the metal roof higher on one side so that basically the poop and the pee would go into the back I'm very interested in possibly purchasing some kennels from me so hit me up

You can’t drill a hole in the corners of the trays so when they pee it just flows out and the same thing that happens when it rains if there’s a 1 or 2 inch hole in each corner the pee will just wash out . The only thing left is the poop . It would make things easier.

I clean my kennels based on the use. if my dogs are in there daily, I clean daily if my dogs are back-and-forth between the kennels and the play areas then usually I don’t have to clean but once every couple weeks.

I 100% agree. The paws are split and are smaller than those holes. It HAS to be wrecking those paws longevity.
