Thanks for all your great tips, Dale! Here’s one for you: Quite by accident, I discovered the quickest way to remove all the glunk from garden tools. I was out of disinfectant wipes during COVID & all I had was a pack of makeup remover wipes. Much to my surprise & delight, the black & green sticky glunk just wiped right off!!! I manage a large community garden, so I’m constantly cleaning tools. This has made my job so much easier. Even tho everyone is supposed to be cleaning the tools after every use, that seldom happens, this has cut my cleaning time significantly.

I've has a pair of bypass Felcosvfor 30 years. Telco (and likely other major brand makers) has great how-to videos to disassemble, clean, sharpen and lube. Very useful.

@My Cancer Journey 🙏❤️ I'm so sorry to hear you're fighting cancer, my heart goes out to you! I've subbed to your channel and look forward to rooting you on and supporting your fight anyway I can. Unfortunately I'm not a money rich guy, but I'm incredibly wealthy in the truest form with a beautiful family and alot of SELF knowledge. Both of my parents have had long bouts with cancer and Unfortunately both didn't live to see it through. By the time my mother who was a registered nurse had been diagnosed her ovarian cancer had spread throughout her body and was in dire condition. She had known there was problems for quite some time but kept being pushed out of Dr's. Offices and hospitals with no in depth evaluation and wasn't taken seriously. Unfortunately we were estranged at the time for a cpl years and didn't tell me anything about it until she was almost dead from radiation. Not even 3 months after speaking with her for the first time in a long time she passed in hospice. I didn't know what I know now about who we truly back then but still wish I was with her for the entire stretch. With that being said my beliefs not that it might matter to you, but my beliefs and years of seeking and researching has brought me to an overwhelming and miraculous conclusion. Again this is my version of truth, I'm not pushing it on you. But significant evidence through sciences, quantum physics, sacred geometry, numerology, and astrology amongst others proves strongly to the fact we live in a unified field of infinite possibilities and potential that is intelligent and defies the laws of physics at a quantum state. Meaning at the smallest particles and observation hue-man eye balls can see not only did this unified field of energy defy the laws of physics and show that ALL potentials already exist but also the particles changed and acted differently depending on the observer. Hinting strongly what the oldest and most common spiritual concepts have been saying and expressing for thousands of years. Including the allegorical Bible. Not only do we create our own reality wether we acknowledge it or not but EVERYTHING IS actually ONE infinite thing that continues to grow and change and unfold. Thar ONE thing for lack of better word IS God. So I just wanted you to know that you are, in my eyes, another aspect of my mother and she was of you. We're ALL ONE, in my eyes anyway. Again I'm not here to challenge your beliefs but here to support you. I can say without even knowing your personality that I love you and want EVERYTHING you want as long as it comes from empowered heart. You are so strong and magnificent and I just want to remind you that. If the body can create it, then it can also destroy it. Please have faith in what Creator gave us and listen to it as it is far smarter than our personality, persona =ego. Stay blessed, namaste 🙏 😇♥️💪🌎✌️ you got this! Your a master of the universe, we've just chosen to temporarily forget this to have an authentic hue-manifesting experience. ❤🙏

There are a few tools you can also buy that are made to sharpen pruning shears without having to disassemble. They're not the most fun to take apart with the springs.

Good to know that hair trimmer oil can be used on the blades! I will have to start doing this with my various garden trimmers!

It's usually just mineral oil. If it's good enough for the blades that contact our faces, it's good enough for pruners.

Very timely as it's still too cold here on the Northwest to do anything outside in the garden. My garden is mostly covered in snow. Thanks for the reminder of something i need to take care of!!!❤

I usually just use a cotton tee shirt with denatured alcohol to clean/disinfect and then use mineral oil to lubricate. Its cheap and readily available at all box stores

Hello, quick question do I need to do this every use or like once in a while? I’ve read somewhere that I shouldn’t do it too often and so now I am confused

Hi, Anthony. I have a question about planting in mulch beds. I’m changing my front flower beds from black mulch to plain (non-died) hardwood mulch. I was wondering if I need to wait a while before planting edibles in these areas since you’ve pointed out the toxicity of died mulches?
@2MinuteGardenTips
@2MinuteGardenTips Жыл бұрын
For the record, I don't think the dyes they use are toxic. For example, red dyed mulch is literally made out of iron oxide, which is basically concentrated rust. I doubt that's great for your soil, but I don't think it's necessarily really harmful. The problem is the wood itself. It's usually made of ground up pallets, 2x4's, plywood, and other junk lumber which can be contaminated with chemicals. For example, pallets are usually covered in spilled oils and chemicals, so that would be in the mulch. That being said, no, I would plant the edibles. I wouldn't wait. Don't lose the season. Here is the thing: if the soil is toxic, it'll kill the plants. If the plants aren't sick, then the food they produce is fine. The amount of toxins it takes to harm a human is going to be orders of magnitude more than a human being, so if the plants are fine, you'll be fine. If you want to be safe, plant 2 or 3 plants, give them a few days and if they're growing fine, add more.

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback! I wondered that perhaps it would be beneficial to allow the ground to “recover” if I removed and replaced the died black mulch with compost and plain hardwood mulch. But, it sounds like waiting isn’t at all necessary. Again, thanks.

It wasn't a video on sharpening. Sharpening is something you'd only do periodically. You need to do this every single time you use the pruning shears.
