I want to know how to clean the carriage! I need to see if a piece of something is sticking to the sensor because print them cut doesn't work anymore. My maker is only a svg cutter now. No stickers or tricky stuff anymore.

Can I use my sewing machine oil to re-oil those rods?
@DesignBundles3 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea - I am sure you could since they are both crafting machines.

Don't need to shake the canned air, also it's full of moisture so definitely use it ONLY when needed..I don't even use that on my sewing machines cause of that reason. Don't turn the can upside down & spray either cause it will freeze.

Great to know! Thank you!

I came to say the same thing, canned air should never be shaken and it actually says so on the can.

Any sewing machine / beard trimmer oil works to re-oil your roller bar 😊

Still, I havent learnt what I really needed. The holders for cutter and pens got stained with the permanent ink and it really wont vanish after using anything...

I bought one at Black Friday and only used it 1 times and it’s all dirty inside it’s crazy that in only 1 use it’s dirty and I only only used the cardstock that they give with the maker 3 in the box 📦 to use a pen and write to test

What kind of brand of canned air do you use to clean the cricut. ?
@DesignBundles3 жыл бұрын
This is the brand Crystal used in the video - www.walmart.com/ip/onn-Electronics-Duster-Compressed-Gas-Cleaner-10-oz-4-Pack/621867766 However you can use any brand you wish.

It’s my understanding that sticking your blade in tin foil doesn’t sharpen your blade it just cleans it. Should you ever have to re-oil the rods in your machine? The star wheels on my maker are so hard to move that my husband has to move them for me every time. Thanks Chrystal
@DesignBundles3 жыл бұрын
Great question! I will be sure to check with Crystal about the star wheels! 😊

@@ASMRBIRD You can regularly clean the motor and mechanism with canned air and a microfiber cloth ☺️

My blade keeps falling out of the housing? What do i do?
@DesignBundles3 жыл бұрын
It should clip right in, I would check the housing without the blade to make sure it closes properly.

Stabbing the blade in tinfoil doesn't sharpen it, it just cleans it.
@DesignBundles3 жыл бұрын
It can actually sharpen it as well.

@@DesignBundles Sorry, it does not sharpen the blade. If you look at the tip of the blades as it is used, the tip is worn down. Stabbing into the foil cleans off the adhesives and helps the blade glide more smoothly through the vinyl, paper etc. It's a common misunderstanding, but with so many followers, you want to be sure you've got your info correct.

@@lisakaydavenport7368 I just wanted to add, its crazy how many people still say foil sharpens the blades.. little bit funny too :P
@mjjohnson252 жыл бұрын
As others have said, the aluminum foil only cleans the blade. It doesn't sharpen the blade.
@ericknudson23874 ай бұрын
These need lubrication too… actually more important than dusting.
@chaosprsm2 жыл бұрын
Aluminum foil only CLEANS the blade. It does NOT sharpen the blade. Only something "harder" (think of Moh's hardness scale) than the material the item is made from can alter the shape of that item. Aluminum is not as hard as steel.
