I let the tomatoes in the baking soda water for sometime. The wax transfered to my palms while rinsing the tomatoes and also stayed at the tomatoes after rinsing them. I rinsed them also without soda and palms got the same amount of the wax sticking to them. Washed (rubbing) the palms with baking soda for 1 minute, rinsed and the wax seemed to disappear. Then washed, rubbed, the tomatoes with as much of baking soda as soap for hand wash for at least 1 minute. The difference in touch of soda washed and water rinsed tomato was huge

That’s why I try to buy organic. But in the case I get apples that are not organic, I will use your method. Thanks!

I just made a paste with water and borax. Used a clean scouring pad. Rinse in hot water before and after then run under cold water for a few minutes.

Why would you brush the apple like that?? It just bruises the skin and presses all the chemical deeper into the apple..... Scraping the wax off with a knife is just silly...
