How to clean and restore chrome rims(new formula)

This is nonsense. You can't fix or restore pitted corroded chrome. You can use dry steel wool to remove the peeling chrome flakes and rust stains. If rust stains on steel chrome plated wheels are very bad just use naval jelly or any weak acid like vinegar. plated aluminum wheels will have white corrosion which is aluminum oxide crystals which are very hard. Common sandpaper abrasive is made of aluminum oxide crystals. The coke has acid in it but you are neutralizing it when you mix it with baking soda which is a base and will cause a chemical reaction and neutralizes the acid-base properties and turns to salt. You may as well use water mixed with table salt if using this method. When I was kid my dad used to use vinegar, lemon juice, or straight coke to remove rust stains from his chrome plated steel rims, but that is straight acid which will give better results.

The key is to clean them regularly and never let salt sit on them even for a day. Salt is chromes worst enemy

If I use steel wool on chrome it’s only going to be 0000. 0000 steel wool and mothers metal polish and a micro fiber towel. My cobra r rims are all pitted and corroded from sitting for 5 years. I will use the mother’s metal polish and 0000 steel wool.

Mines never peeled i use a chrome cleaner with the pads 0000

Chrome rims sucks....polish aluminum is the way....no matter how you try to keep them the chrome gonna look like that and peel off....why???...specialy the front rims.....the calioer and pads braket get hot....so...the rims get hot....that how chronme rims get f..k and thats why they suck

Lol I have stick chrome rims from 2007 and are perfect, oxidation peeling happens from neglect! chrome is tough stuff!! chrome will get u home! I barely have to touch my rims they always look nice shiny! If u start clean easy to keep clean alot of people buy used old rims that already ate old and have issues!
