Did this on Christmas day. Had to strip black paint off our bricks. We absolutely love the color scheme (same as yours) of the brick. Not too many houses in the US have this brick color scheme. Applied a brick sealer and boy does it bring the colors back to life.

Did it make brick n mortar a darker shade than before?
@Scentsibility Жыл бұрын
@@samsmyth-nh4ko the stripper bought back the original color but it was a dull color... the sealer made it pop in the brick color.. so yes it darkened it but it how the true color was.

Great job and a lot of elbow grease! How long did it take to clean that area? How many sqft or sqm there are?

Wow, that looks great! I'm stripping the paint off my fireplace bricks but the color is flat. Might try this..

Hard to find help with an INTERIOR wall. Can't use a pressure washer indoors! I installed a brick veneer wall and I got too aggressive with the sponge and grey-washed the entire wall. The wire brush worked well and a matte sealer enhanced the brick without adding a sheen. Cheers from LaLa Land, California.

Hi there, this is so helpful, thank you so much!! we’re looking at exposing a similar size wall - want to get it done pre the builders coming in and doing some work, what kind of length of time would you recommend to allow for the whole project (probably 2 people…. DIY)

That looks ace! Thanks for the tips 🎉

I'm putting this on repeat while I do exactly the same thing very soon in an old barn in Poland mate.. so thanks for this. (exactly same plaster on sides too, just making it feature wall). One question though, sorry if you may have said - on my wall, I found the bricks have been laid in an uneven manner.. some levels are slightly indented etc.. What should I do about this? Leave it alone or somehow shave off the ones sticking out, or fill in the ones indented?? Any advice appreciated.

Would leave it see how it looks when finished, it may add to it . Thanks

Does the brick and mortar stay that darker colour or does it dry the same again?
@PaintingandDecorating Жыл бұрын
It does stay darker after it's dry, but may lighten slightly. Thanks

Do i need to do this if im putting plasterboard on the brickwork?
@PaintingandDecorating11 ай бұрын
no not like this but you're better sealing the brick before applying any dot and dab. Diluted PVA is good. thanks

Beautiful. I have a building that is two stories high and over 5,300 square feet with ONE ENTIRE side I want to use. The Outside wall is brick with stucco over it and inside it is that entire wall that is brick I would like to expose. This is nice but it would take MONTHS to do all of the brick. I am at a lost.

Would diluted PVA 5:1 be as good as using the 'No Nonsense sealer' ? It would be a lot cheaper as the sealer is £15/litre?
@PaintingandDecorating2 жыл бұрын
No PVA helps with porosity of a surface helps keep dust down but it does not seal... Thanks

What are your thoughts on using stabiliser solution instead, or is it pretty much the same? Eg stormdry solution Did you have to repoint before doing this?

What kind of brush did you use to out the solution on? Masonary brush?
