Agree take it down start again, the time you spend messing around filling just cut your losses, check out how to cut your corners rather than bogde it to the wall, so many times I've found cove shelling off the adhesive because it's not been done correctly

Have you tried a multi tool with a blunt blade? I used that method on similar looking job and found it to be less aggressive on brick than using my SDS, less dust and maybe a just a little bit longer but not much. I just used multi tool score line till I came to brick then with flat end of blade lifted plaster off and it really cleaned brick off nice.
@OfficialPooYT13 сағат бұрын
Yes less destructive for sure with a multi tool
@PaintingandDecorating12 сағат бұрын
It has been taken off before the brick is shot. The cement has filled a lot of gaps. No easy way... this is like a tooth pick.. slowly does it. Like I say the brick is saturated and falling apart. Once dry it will all be cement again and tough. Thanks
@PaintingandDecorating12 сағат бұрын
Plus if the brick is slightly crumbling it needs removing for a sound surface. Some really bad bricks may need replacing... Thanks 👍

Always use sand and cement with waterproofing additive, back in the 80’s on home improvement grants the spec on replastering after injecting a damp proof course was hack off a metre high and replaster with sand cement and waterproofer, then skim, why change it? from my experience this stuff used as a base coat takes an absolute age to dry out.
@PaintingandDecorating13 сағат бұрын
@@christopherdavies1040 this is only a patch repair which is more than a meter high.

I saw this video and my painting project with high ceiling beams had just been finished and I failed to notice a patch of runs left from the roller! I didn’t thin I could fix this but went and bought this scraper, noticed it can be attached to an extendable pole, perfect ! Now my high ceiling beam no longer has the drip patch!! Off topic, Any good recommendations for exterior wood filler for exterior front door ? I probably was going to use a 2 pack filler ( ronseal ) then fine fill with toupret wood filler ( the powder one ). I was just wondering if you know of any good ones ?

We use Ronseal but you may want something more flexible on a front door. Especially if you're filling joints.

Hi, have you lined the wall? Do you always line? What's your advice on getting the seams flawless? Is it harder with one light background and 2 thicker paper? Thanks x
@PaintingandDecorating7 күн бұрын
@@nataliehayden8330 if the wallpaper instructions say line for best results then your best following instruction. Lining also helps to stop joints from lifting on the finish paper. Always butt joints do not overlap the smallest of gaps is okay in the lining paper..Thanks
@nataliehayden83307 күн бұрын
@PaintingandDecorating thank you for your reply. It was in a top paper, light cream background, seams showed more than I would have liked. After butting up do you go back over, leaving time in-between? I see you was running your finger down. The one I was hanging was quite thick and no seam roller to be used and no need to cross line, although I did go over my filler with Gardz and sized the walls with paste the night before. X
