This is how I cleaned my 8 coil packs. Before doing there was random vibration felt from inside the car and more noticeable when touching the intake manifold. There was also hesitation when during hard acceleration. After cleaning all 8, random vibration which was noticeable during idling at stop light was gone. The hesitation during hard acceleration is gone as well. Sharing this as this might do the trick for yours with the similar symptoms.

@@Adr-z5k, you might want to consider inspecting the Sparkplugs as well. If it's more than 40k kms, it's not too much to replace them. I had experience with hesitation due to spark plugs. When I measured the resistance it's still around 4k. Checked gap, within spec, but it's old enough. After replacement, hesitation was gone. This process is quite tedious and you need to be careful not breaking any brittle parts.

this is a superb video about exactly how to fix this rather irritating problem that plagues these Hondas. Very very grateful to you for taking the time to put this together and uploading it to KZbin to help out people. I have followed your steps precisely and can vouch for the fact that it has resolved so many issues with my 2008 Honda Jazz 1.5L GD3. Problems resolved 1) really inconsistent idling when engine is cold 2) When engine is cold and I come to a stop the engine idle speed drops to almost zero and then recovers 3) A lot of vibration in the engine particularly around the region of the idle speed. 4) Engine is rough when cold and accelerating hard acceleration accentuates the problem. All these were resolved after cleaning the coils as per this video. saved heaps on replacement coils as here in New Zealand Honda dealership will totally rob you when it comes to any Honda part ( you are talking $NZ 287.00 +15% GST tax)!!!

If the coil is this dirty, it’s time to toss them and put new ones in, a coil is more than clean contacts and connectors. The winding inside will wear .. Over time, the constant exposure to electrical currents and the associated heat can cause the windings to degrade. This degradation can result in increased electrical resistance, reduced performance, and eventual coil failure.

I don't know the acceptable range for the resistor but since I got almost the same vakues for 8 coil packs, I used that as reference for the other measurements. @doitmyself63773 жыл бұрын
@@zaifkhann I would start with that value. You could also check 2 or more of your coil resistors. What's important is the corroded material/contact tends to create much higher series resistance in addition to the built in resistor. If you have a service manual, it might be listed in there. I would be interested to know also. Good luck.

No. You might want to check and clean plugs. Sometimes plugs have carbon on tip or worse oil depending on your piston seal condition. Wet by gasoline if you have leaky injectors

@doitmyself63773 жыл бұрын
If you're planning on replacing them anyway, you could try clean them first. But consider availability of parts first in case you totally break it. I would try problem isolation first specially if the coils are identical. And if it points to the coil, it's worth the risk trying to clean it because regardless if you break it or not, you're gonna have to replace it.

hello. today I wanted to clean springs & contacts on these circuits on Honda City. I went out from the workshop to work on a day light, not expecting something "terrible" would happen. As I was pulling a spring with a resistor with long nose pliers (it went off much harder than what we can see on your video) and as the spring got out, in a fragment of second my resistor with a nickel connector on it swung away to the bushy & grassy surroundings. We were trying to find it, but after about an hour we gave up. Do you know whether we can get a single resistor with a special nickel connector, please? if so, where, please? Thank you

Sorry to hear that but I am not sure if we can buy that kind of resistor somewhere even from Honda. Honda usually sells it as whole assembly. We also don't know the resistor specs other than the value. A better way would be to buy an oem replacement. I've seen aliexpress selling this for less than 20 usd per piece

Hello my car Honda Fit 2005(iDSI). But now my car gasoline lost a lot.(100km= 11L)how can I do?
@doitmyself63775 жыл бұрын
Hello. That's really bad fuel economy(less than 10kmpl).There are many factors that can affect your iDSI's fuel economy. It's better to use OBD2 scanner to check for codes and other parameters especially fuel trims. Also when you compare I assume that you don't change your driving habits. What I usually do to compare gas usage is on a highway back and forth. So I would compare the last recorded mileage on the same route back and forth. This is to measure for highway driving. For city driving it would require longer time(and a number of full tanks) then get the average. City driving is less predictable than highway driving. You could try these.

I believe it's there for an important purpose. Otherwise manufacturers would just get rid of that extra cost. I think it serves as current limiting protecting the coil pack itself. I would keep it there as much as possible. If you could just clean them, your coil pack would love that.
