I just buy a single can of Pepsi, open it up, and pour directly onto the terminals. If the corrosion is persistent, stick the metal part of the cable into a cup of Pepsi and let it sit for 10 minutes. Cables will come out looking brand new. Try it yourself it's facts.

Can you clean them or just the one without disconnecting it I noticed on one it's just starting to turn white is there anything I get buy to like say spray on it before it gets really bad

i have corrosion on my terminals. my car takes a while to start but once it catches it goes. someone told me it was the started but i think the starter starts and the corrosion is preventing the smooth operation. any thoughts. ? i will do this since i need to rule out other things before i replace the starter. thank you for this video, really helpful.

Pads also help prevent corrosion and a battery terminal cleaner is a must have that can be picked up at Harbor Freight for a couple bucks. 👍🏼

Nothing bad just the computer will be reset so you’d have to set something like a digital clock and radio channels over again

Do not do that... Made up of different stuff (Petroleum based vs silicone). Just use what you are supposed to use for its intended purposes.

My understanding is that dielectric grease is an insulator, so it seems like a bad idea to put any between the battery post and the connector.

I feel like the dielectric grease caused the corrosion on my battery. Anyway to fix the problem so it never happens again?

​@@tracy6888so you used Vaseline instead of dielectric grease? Petroleum jelley instead of the silicon based product that dielectric grease is? Wonder why you had an issue... Maybe try using what you are supposed to. I mean even autozone is smart enough to put on their site to not use Vaseline on battery terminals .. that is saying something...

Dielectric grease is non-conductive, and should not be applied to the mating surfaces of the posts. Use a conductive electrical grease like No-Ox-id A special and use dielectric grease on the exterior side or the terminal protection spray like in the video.

The wire connectors are not installed properly! You should loosen the nut and open the connector until it slides all the way to the bottom of the battery terminal. at 3:01 in the video, is how NOT to install the wires!. also why clean only 1/2 of the top of the battery?
