Thank you so much for this video!!! My first time buying king crab and cooking them. You have no idea how hard it is to find a video of people cleaning their legs before eating them! I refuse to eat mine without cleaning them first, but I didn't know how I should clean them.

@CPR4THEBODYlivingaenrichedlife Yeap, I will admit I used to eat blue crabs, but I got tired of killing and cleaning them. It's a lot of work. Many people don't even clean out that yellow and orange stuff or know how to thoroughly clean them! And stopped eating blue crabs altogether. It's too much work for too little meat in the long run!
@CPR4THEBODYlivingaenrichedlife5 ай бұрын
@Tampabruh I thgt I was the only one!! Those blue crabs are worse...I can not do that. I remember the first time my friend dron Charleston try to show me..OMG WHEN I SEEN THAT ORANGE STUFF I WAS LIKE NOPE

Great video. I use a small amount of detergent with a scrubber sponge and rinse them well. My kids crack them with their teeth, so I want them super clean. I make sure to get the black bumps off the legs and the other part. I will try vinegar and baking soda, and see which cleansing method I prefer. Thanks Sis.
@CPR4THEBODYlivingaenrichedlife3 жыл бұрын
Oh wow. I would be afraid to use detergent. Yes pls try this way and let me know ur thoughts. Its natural and less harmful. I onlybsay that because the top where the white meat is can soak in the detergent. Tfw have Happy New Year.
@georgiaval13 жыл бұрын
@@CPR4THEBODYlivingaenrichedlife No the detergent is not harmful to the outer legs. It does not soak into the meat. I am a nurse and I make sure that I’m just washing the outside of the legs and when I rinse, I’m rinsing down. The top part that I clean by hand with hot water. It really gets off a lot of the black spots that we have on our crab legs here. I didn’t see them on your crab legs. I still will try your way. Thanks🤗

What about sea leeches?? Can you just scrub them off? Or does the contamination get into the snow crab meat??
@brigittemadrid3739 Жыл бұрын
Also, I am looking at purchasing precooked crab legs, how does that affect them?
@CPR4THEBODYlivingaenrichedlife Жыл бұрын
Marine sea leeches are blood-sucking parasites that feed on marine turtles (family Ozobranchidae) or fishes (family Piscicolidae). Turtle leeches spend their entire life cycle attached to the turtle. During heavy infestations, the turtle may be harmed due to enormous blood loss.
