Pre soaking clothes before washing is a staple in most Caribbean households. I wouldn’t use Tide on my colors as the detergent is so strong, but definitely on my whites. Oxiclean works better on color clothes and doesn’t fade the color as fast. Great tips. 👍🏾

When I strip fabrics, I just use the washer. I make sure it's not over full, use the same formula of detergent/ borax /washing soda, fill with highest water level, then agitate every hour or so. After soaking I just run the washer as normal. This works so well on sheets and towels, especially white ones! It saved some I thought I was going to have to throw away!

I clean my washer with vinegar and baking soda once a week and after I put baking soda and vinegar in the pan and put vinegar and baking soda in the detergent fabric softener and bleach containers to get build up then I wash it on heavy duty with hot water. I strip my towels once a month in the washing machine . Heavy cycle with soaking cycle then run it on the normal cycle to rinse a 2nd time. They smell so good after that.

Hi I figured I’d throw in my own special ‘hack’ that I’ve learned being a professional house cleaner. If you have that white, foggy buildup on your shower glass, the best thing to use is called pink stuff. It does take scrubbing but it usually only takes one application for me no matter how many years that buildup has been sitting! Hope that helps! ♥️

Yes. Also if you are going to do laundry striping, which I think is unnecessary. But if you are going to do it, why not just do it in your wash machine, versus dirting your tub and then trying to ring all the water out of the clothes to transfer to your washer. It seems to me it could all be done right in the washing machine.

I’m a little late to the party but I may have to beg everyone here: do NOT use toilet bowl cleaner on your clients grout in their homes!!! Bathroom grout has a sealant on it to protect the subfloor from water seeping through to it, that will erode with that acidic cleaner, and unless you want to reseal the grout every time you clean it (yes, you need to reseal grout occasionally even with regular cleaning, but quadruple-fold if you use an acid cleaner) then leave the toilet bowl cleaner for toilets. It’s the reason the grout gets stained again- the grout sealant is GONE. I cringe whenever someone mentions it- I’ve seen it happen with other homes with a company I used to clean for. I now own my own company and those tasks are best left for the right tools.

My mom ALWAYS put pillow cases on inside out. It is SO much easier to put them on, especially if you have a king size pillow case, that you want to use on a regular sized pillow.I just lay the king pillow case wrong side up, on the pillow, and you can judge where to fold it upward at the open end. Now, making sure the fold is nice and smooth, you put your hands inside the corners of the pillow case and use your thumbs and forefinger to grasp the corners of the pillow, flipping it over and down the pillow, and the case is on right side up. This automatically tucks in enough fabric to keep the ends tucked in.

1. Use a degreaser in your laundry together with whatever detergent you use. It will avoid buildup of whatever deposits in your clothes. I use 1 or 2 cap full of Lestoil (the cap of the Lestoil bottle itself) or 1/2 to 1 cup of LA's Awesome (can buy online or at most Dollar Stores - this item can also be used to clean your walls - you will see the grime just drip down, then just wipe it off). Actually LA's Awesome can be use everywhere even your outside walls and gutters! 2. White distilled vinegar - from cleaning mirrors, glass, laundry as softener to removing algae from outside walls, decks etc... the uses are endless. 3. Hard water stains in bathroom - use a pumice stone. No detergent needed.

Hello! I've been watching your videos for a couple of years now and I love so much of your content, and seeing your family grow has been amazing! I hope your year is going wonderful! I do feel the need to share something though that is contrary to one of your tips. I cleaned for a year and one of the things I learned was not to use glass cleaner on stainless steel. The reason why is that over time the ammonia in most glass cleaners will dissolve and erode the nickel in the stainless steel, and cause ruts in it in the long run. Anything chrome though is fine, no nickel! There's special cleaner for stainless steel that seals it to protect the metal and prevent finger prints, I'd look into that!

My mom ALWAYS cleaned her walls. If you smoke, or have smokers in your home, your walls are yellow. It actually turned blue walls at a social club, to green. I love to wash the walls in my kitchen, as I cook a lot! Sometimes I just use a fabric softener and water mixture with a bit of soap, just for the fresh scent. Open windows and freshen the whole house.

It's the chemical reaction when they cancel each other out that cleans the drain. It creates a mini explosion in the drain that pushes the dirt down. This tip really works and it's a great and easy way to clean drains.

A plumber responded on a different video that had this tip and stated the baking soda can harden in the drain further down and cause backups. I'd probably speak to one in person before trying it. Maybe the boiling water dissolves it and that's why it's used in this one?
