Have you ever experience the acetone taking the plating off? I'm concerned with it removing a coating.

I haven't. I only did it on my inexpensive jewelry that I was about to throw away that way if it did ruin it, I didn't care. It worked so I shared it.

Any jewelry that is plated like sterling with gold overlay, you must be careful with the acetone because it can strip the top coating off very easily.

Ca I use alcohol to sanitize the part that goes into the ear? Can I soak in alcohol?

Can you use the acetone for real diamond rings?

For real diamonds, I would use warm water and dish soap.

Ive always used just soapy water an toothbrush or alcohol. Ive only had a few items turn green, not many and most of my jewelry is not real.

I bought Lovisa juwelry, ok it's silver plated , I only wear silver,but fake earings hurts my ears and I saw you can just put clear cutex on it and try it then. But yes I would like to know how to look after fake juwelry, we'll costume juwelry, the truth is, you can't afford the real silver , it's to expensive. Unless you get a place where you can buy and pay it of.but still if you can buy costume juwelry and look after it ,and know how to clean it ,Why do you want to go spend so much money ,unless you have the money and wants to spoil yourself.
