Hello Virberello, I am not a mechanically minded person and so everything I know about scooters, I have one myself, has been learnt from your videos. Thank you SO MUCH for the education. Every now and then i get stumped when the performance of my GY6 begins to deteriorate I have to search for the solution, and your videos become invaluable. The problem I am experiencing now is, when I accelerate it seems like the engine is going to cut out, almost like a throttling sound and becomes very sluggish and doesnt want to "pull" until I back off on the accelerator. I have searched and rewatched your videos and the only thing that comes to mind is the carburetor enricher is perhaps faulty or not operating properly. Other than this, I truly cannot say what it could be and if you could assist this old man, I will be so grateful. Thank you very much.

Hello my friend with time I learn that sometimes mechanical problems and electrical problems can give you motor very similar symptoms one time i had a oil leak coming from the oil tensioner and that little leak made my stator / alternator very dirty and my scooter at 6k rpm was no performing so I try everything like valve adjustment / carb cleaning service / compression test / new battery and at the end after doing all that I find out that my stator was dirty so I cleaned with an electric cleaning spray and after my scooter was working great and I had to fix the oil leak at the chain tensioner I hope this can help you and thank you for watching my videos

Great video. I bought a 150cc johnway it sat for 2 years. I changed the oils. Recently riding home it started hesitating when I give it gas. I thought it might have been bad gas so I rode till it was almost empty. It started to run great but soon as I put gas it started again. I'm thinking carb or the main jet is clogged.

Dear Sir, I followed your procedure to process my GY6 scooter carburetor here, and then I set it up on my scooter already! Few days ago, I try to start engine for test carburetor situation, I found a lot of gasoline through carburetor upper pipeline out! I don’t understand what reason make happen is? Do you have any suggestion for that? Thanks!
@VirberelloScooterTips Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your GY6 scooter carburetor after following the cleaning procedure. It's important to address this gasoline leakage problem as soon as possible for the safety of your scooter and yourself. The excessive gasoline flow from the carburetor's upper pipeline can be caused by a few different factors. Here are some common reasons and suggestions to help you diagnose and resolve the issue: Float Level Adjustment: Check if the float level inside the carburetor is set correctly. If the float is too high or too low, it can lead to an improper fuel supply. Adjust the float to the manufacturer's specifications. Float Valve: Inspect the float valve and needle. They may be worn out or damaged, preventing the valve from sealing properly. If damaged, replace them. Fuel Pressure: Ensure that the fuel supply line isn't delivering fuel at excessive pressure. Stuck Float: Make sure the float inside the carburetor moves freely. If it's stuck in the open position, it will allow too much fuel to enter the carburetor. Clean or replace the float if needed. Clogged Vent or Overflow Tube: Check if there are any obstructions in the carburetor's vent or overflow tubes. These tubes play a crucial role in maintaining proper fuel levels. Clean them thoroughly. Needle Seat: Inspect the needle seat for debris or damage. Clean or replace it if necessary. Gasket and O-Rings: Ensure that all gaskets and O-rings are in good condition. A damaged gasket can lead to leaks. Replace any worn or damaged seals. Reassembly: Double-check that you correctly reassembled the carburetor components after cleaning. A small misalignment or improper seating can cause fuel leaks. Fuel Quality: Ensure that you are using clean and uncontaminated fuel. Contaminated fuel can cause blockages and disrupt the carburetor's function. Professional Inspection: If you've checked all of the above and the issue persists, it may be best to have a professional scooter mechanic inspect the carburetor. They can perform a more detailed diagnosis and recommend any necessary repairs. Remember to prioritize safety when working on your scooter's carburetor. If you're unsure about any step in the troubleshooting process, it's safer to seek the assistance of a qualified mechanic. I hope these suggestions help you identify and resolve the issue with your scooter's carburetor. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to ask. Safe riding!

TY for your videos,,,,So tell me if this is correct when it comes to tuning, turn the mixture screw until you are at highest idle, THEN adjust the throttle screw. When the mixture screw is turned in all the way in it should kill the engine, if it does not then you need a smaller pilot jet. Likewise, if you turn the mixture screw all the way out and you cant get highest idle the you need bigger pilot jet

Amazing video! Our Palazzo 150 wouldn't get started. We replaced the fuel filter, plug, and then we found this video. Simple to follow. Hubby cleaned the carb and jet and she started after only 2 tries! Our only issue is that it won't hold idle and it runs rough. The previous owner only used 87 or lower gas in the scooter and there's still some in the tank. What do you think the issue is? We put in 90 octane ethanol free in it but it's still got some of the old gas mixed in. :(

I have the same engine I have the problem that the fuel is comming by the oil do you know what the problem is I think something with the carb the scooter drive perfect
@VirberelloScooterTips Жыл бұрын
If fuel is coming into the oil, it could be a sign of a carburetor issue. The carburetor is responsible for mixing air and fuel in the correct proportions for combustion in the engine. If the carburetor is not functioning properly, it can lead to an overly rich fuel mixture, causing fuel to seep into the oil. There are a few possible reasons for this problem: Float Valve: The float valve inside the carburetor may be stuck or not sealing properly. This can cause fuel to continuously flow into the carburetor and eventually into the oil. Needle and Seat: The needle and seat assembly in the carburetor could be worn or damaged, preventing it from closing off the fuel flow properly. As a result, fuel can leak into the engine and mix with the oil. Carburetor Float: The float inside the carburetor may be damaged or incorrectly adjusted. If the float is too high, it can allow excessive fuel to enter the carburetor and subsequently flow into the oil. or your fuel valve petcok need to be replace because is leaking Thank you for watching my video

@VirberelloScooterTips Жыл бұрын
f you've cleaned the carburetor in your gas scooter and are now experiencing gas getting into the oil, it's important to address this issue promptly to prevent potential engine damage. Gasoline in the oil can lead to decreased lubrication, causing excessive wear on engine components. Here are some possible reasons why this might be happening: Float valve or needle: The float valve and needle are responsible for regulating the fuel flow into the carburetor bowl. If they are not functioning correctly or are worn out, they may not be sealing properly, allowing fuel to overflow into the carburetor and eventually mix with the oil. Carburetor adjustment: The carburetor may not be properly adjusted, leading to an overly rich fuel-air mixture. This can result in unburned fuel finding its way into the oil. Crankcase ventilation: If the crankcase ventilation system is clogged or malfunctioning, it can create excessive pressure in the crankcase, causing oil to be pushed into the airbox and gas to be drawn into the oil. Piston rings or cylinder wear: If the piston rings or cylinder walls are worn or damaged, they may not be sealing properly, allowing gas to leak past them and mix with the oil. Fuel pump or fuel valve issues: Some scooters have a fuel pump petcock that can malfunction, causing fuel to be pumped into the carburetor at a higher rate than necessary, leading to overflow and gas in the oil.

hey man I have a gy6 jonway and I just change my stock air filter to a K&N style air filter. seems like it added more power but I started hearing noise in my gear box.
@VirberelloScooterTips8 жыл бұрын
Hello I have on my scooter a K&N style air filter too this is great but the only problem if you have a little rain and the filter get a little wet you filter close up and your engine is not breathing any more until is dry now try to find the way to keep that filter cover, now that you give more air to your motor you need to give a little more juice you need to keep a balance so if you like you can change your main jet of your carburetor to a 120 or 125 size jet at that point your scooter will run a lot better and faster. The gear box has nothing to do with the filter yes with high flow filter is more noise but if you hear a slapping noise at the rear gear box is possible that your belt is braking a part or if you hear a rattling noise in the front lower left side of the crankcase cover on your scooter that is the location of the variator and the rattling noise is the worn variator rollers that need to be change. Hello Luke if the scooter can stay on idle that is good thing but if you give a little throttle and the scooter dies down that i a dirty main jet and needs to be clean also if your scooter is a gy6 150cc the manifold is made of rubber and sometime they brake with age or heat and is not easy to see unless you look close or twist with your hands if the scooter was setting for one year there is a possibility of oxidation on the copper of the stator but if your riding your scooter for a while oxidation went away. Sea foam wouldnt help ??
@VirberelloScooterTips Жыл бұрын
Sea foam is a popular fuel additive that is used to clean and maintain engines. It is specifically designed to clean and lubricate fuel systems, including carburetors, and can help improve the performance and efficiency of your gas scooter. When used properly, Sea Foam can help break down and dissolve the buildup of varnish, gum, and carbon deposits in the carburetor, which can improve fuel flow and reduce the risk of engine problems. It can also help lubricate the internal components of the carburetor, which can help prevent wear and tear and extend the life of the carburetor. To use Sea Foam to clean your scooter's carburetor, you can add it directly to the fuel tank according to the instructions on the product label. You can also use Sea Foam as a cleaning solution by adding it directly to the carburetor through the intake or through the fuel inlet. However, it's important to note that Sea Foam may not be effective for all types of carburetor issues and more severe problems may require professional cleaning or repair.

I cant even unscrew my carburetor screws. They seem to be welded shut and it just stripping the head of the screw.
@VirberelloScooterTips3 жыл бұрын
Hello justin yes sometime they are very thight and the metal of the screws is very soft so the best way to remove them is to squeeze them with a grip vise amzn.to/3pKhHW4 but not point down get them side way is not easy and will take you a little time

Hi sir i have a speedjet scotter. It has a problem. While running it suddenly turns off and stops. Whats wrong with it and what can be the solution ?
@VirberelloScooterTips5 жыл бұрын
Hello Samiullah is not easy to say if I do not see the scooter could be a fuel flow problem or electrical problem if is fuel flow you need to clean the carburetor if is electric you need to change the spark plug or the coil or the stator magneto. Good luck and thank you for watching my video

Very similar scooter 125, pd24j carburetor, 1) work 100% (75 - 80 km/h ) with NO air filter and NO SPOUT connected (air), 2) with spout connected to air, but no air filter (case open) work until 60 km/h and fails to acelerate then 3) with air filter works very bad (20 km/h) and fails, the spark plug obiusly out black so rich gasoline and poor of air do you know what can be? carburator problem (i cleaned very well and not change) ? maybe the piston does not suck air? (20 000 km motor from fabric)
@VirberelloScooterTips7 жыл бұрын
Hi there is an unbalance on air and gas ratio you can adjust the fuel/air ("mixture") ratio. This is done on most scooters using a screw adjustment on the left side of the carburetor. This screw changes the air to fuel ratio at low speeds. It shouldn't need much adjustment, but the way to do it is to turn the screw very slightly (1/8th turn) and see if the idle speed goes up or down. If it goes down, turn the screw back 1/8th turn to where it started, then 1/8 turn in the other direction and see if the idle speed goes up or down. If it goes down, turn it back to where you started since you didn't need any adjustment! If the idle speed goes up, continue turning the screw in 1/8th turn steps until the idle speed is at a maximum. If it starts to go down, turn it back to get the maximum idle speed. Or you can try to lower your size number of you carburetor main jet and do a test run or you can have fun and place a high flow 39mm air filter and see what your performance you can get. That is what I have in my scooter. Thank you for watching my video

virberello i tested this screw without luck, the Main jet is 103 ( i think is the original ) , tomorrow Will test again in that form. thanks for reply!!

Hi I forgot if you have an automatic electric choker on your carburetor sometime they fail in a close position and that will change your ratio try to tested if possible :-)

tested without luck the screw and the auto choke, maybe carburator air curtain? but it have the stock spring and all seems fine

You can also check the space at valves and make sure is right. I see few Carburetor on Amazon for around 30 to 60 dollars you can try to change for a new one and see if your scooter will run better

virberello my scooter starts n will run but cuts off when i give it gas could that be fixed by cleaning The carburetor?
@VirberelloScooterTips7 жыл бұрын
Hi Oscar few thinks are possible main jet inside the carburetor needs to be clean or air filter can not breath first disconnects the hose that is on the rear side of the carburetor that connect to the air box and start the scooter and see if that help if you see improvement you need to change the air filter if you do not see any changes you need to open and clean the main jets inside the carburetor when you remove the carburetor inspect the manifold in front of the carburetor and make sure there is no cracks on the black rubber manifold and make sure the vacuum line is connected to the manifold . If this is not working feel free to contact me anytime Thank you for watching my video

cleaned my carb, now scooter wont start please help!!
@VirberelloScooterTips7 жыл бұрын
No bueno my friend something went wrong first check if the fuel is going to the carb disconnect the fuel line from the carb and place that in a small glass try to start the scooter if the gas is poring from the fuel line you are ood with step 1 now if the gas is not flowing make sure the vacuum line the little tube is connected at the intake in front of your carb.If something is wrong inside the carb the only way to know is to reopen the carb and look if all the parts are working check if the floater is moving and opening and closing the fuel flow and make sure the jets are clean and try to close the carb and restart Good luck let me know how you doing .
@VirberelloScooterTips7 жыл бұрын
Before to reopen the carb also check if the vacuum line at the petcock valve ( amzn.to/2l6X1cy ) is connected and follow the vacuum line from the intake to the valve sometime they brake if they are old

I use wd40
@Corristo897 жыл бұрын
Works, but WD40 smears oil and lubricates while brake cleaner removes it and other unwanted dirt.
