Great video thanks for putting up something on the subject. Please make a part 2 for the insides of the suit. We sweat like God knows what. N over a period even leaves a light odor.

Many people just spray febreeze inside, or soak the entire suit in a bathtub fkr 5-10 mins with dish soap and then condition it after drying.

First off nice guide. I've been a biker for good 10 years now and I owned 3 Dainese full leathers in that period. All of them black and white leather combo so here is my advice. First off a major tip - clean your leather after every end of day / final ride. You will be able to keep it look nice and beautiful by not letting those bugs and grime bake for weeks worth ride. Being lazy about your gear will do the most damage. Now for the fun part - cleaning tip. Now I have tried shit load of products, some good some mediocre - but how can you haul all that cleaning stuff if you go for a road trip for example to stick with my first rule? Truth to be told - you really don't have to! THE BEST method is one you would probably find funny, but trust me - it really works like a charm. Buy yourself a nice little package of quality baby wipes - preferably the ones with aloe vera. I literally couldn`t believe how they easily clean and protect at the same time. Its a perfect combo - they clean and de-solve bugs,grime and dirt and at the same time "feed" leather gently with natural grease without making it sticky and oily with each wipe. Belive me - the first suit I sold was 3 years old, daily usage to work and back on fast roads + weekly road trips on hot sun so a lot of natural "wear and tear". When I sold them the guy asked me why am I selling brand new gear LOL. Just remember if it works on baby skin, that means there is absolutelly nothing agressive in those wipes, but they must also clean perfectly and nurish the baby skin.They will also maintain that factory Dainese leather "treatments" that all that top quality leather is subjected to and wont strip any leather protection. So there you go - cleaning problem solved easy!

I also vouch for baby wipes trick! Still keeps my leather suit nice and soft...and it’s 8 years old :)

Baby wipes are great for keeping leather clean, including car seats and furniture. Although biker gear and seats exposed to sunlight will still require some dressing, it will be far less often.

But how do you get that straight FUNK out of the inside tho People wearing them 80, 90, or even 100 degrees weather (I don't know how anyone could enjoy a ride like that) They dry cleaners will charge an arm and a leg every time I would take it there! Or do they just stay FUNKY lol!
@ChaosBW5 жыл бұрын
Wear long johns and a long sleeve shirt underneath the leathers This should help keep funk smell away

Undersuit & a lot of new suits have removable liner you can throw in the washer machine. It’s all anti microbial, should be good.

Awesome video! I have Dainese gear and this works great on my leather stuff! Could you guys do a video on how to clean a Suede/Nubuck type motorcycle jacket? I have a Dainese Nubuck one and can't find anywhere on how to get it cleaned and maintained...

Great video topic! This is my exact suit and I was always cautious about cleaning the D-Skin leather. Another thing about race suits is that the leather gets bombarded from the *inside* by sweat. Can the leather cleaner be applied directly to the inside of the suit as well? Thanks for the videos, you guys are the best on the web.

Hi guys, I messed up good yesterday, topped up my engine oil on my ZZR1400 and forgot to put back the plug, I didn't notice until after about an hour, oil sprayed out all over the side of my bike, the seat, my right boot and my leathers, could you guys make any recommendations? Many thanks
@wilsjane4 жыл бұрын
Take a look at my reply to Mike Samuel above. Leather is tough and resilient to most things, so oil should wash out and allow you to replace it with leather dressing.

Do you guys have any guides on cleaning really dirty motorbike ? I mean years of crusted road tar on the bottom dirty not your regular kinda dusted dirty that you guys featured regularly on your videos.
@charles3219 жыл бұрын
Chan Tak Zee Get your hands on some Tar X and Iron X they will melt through all the Tar etc, but wash it down with Dish Soap first as that will strip down things better, then possibly hit it all with the Chem guys diluted degreaser, clay bar it and wax. If you can get a decent steam cleaner, that would be great on the more intricate parts of the bike, any chrome stuff use the metal polish and some 0000 steel wool (ultra fine, no scratches).

My son is about to start racing mini motos. How often should I clean his suit? Should I do it after each race weekend? Or does it just depend on how dirty it gets?
@ChemicalGuys2 жыл бұрын
Hi Erika! Exactly, depending on how dirty it gets will determine how often it needs to be cleaned. At least once every three months is normal.

You said that you use a 1-1 for the cleaner, what kind of water are you using ? Distilled water or just regular tap?
@C7eeN8 жыл бұрын
Use distilled water for best results since minerals in your tap water may affect the chemicals or results.
