I have been using that same Castile soap for years. I’m so happy to hear that it is Sonia G approved! I find it’s also fantastic for cleaning a beauty blender. If you put a squirt of that into some warm water and let your sponges soak for about an hour, it’s unbelievable what comes out of them. 💕

I love your tip for using brush guards when traveling! That is genius. Years ago I bought the Suqqu cheek brush after watching Lisa Elridge videos. Unfortunately, at the time, I knew nothing about caring for a brush this delicate. I ended up breaking off several hairs in the process of cleaning it. That was a hard lesson to learn. Your video will help so many :)

Hi Michele, half a week ago i ordered your famous Esum brushes, and this evening i ordered the Rephr brushes you mentioned 1 day ago. Look forward to them!😍 I first asked the company Rephr this afternoon: what is arranged, or not arranged with customs when shipping to The Netherlands. I received a reply about an hour ago from them, that for EU they actually ship from Austria and pay the VAT on behalf of the European customer. Maybe nice info for other Europeans here. About the soap Michele, i have the Clean Apothecary from Beautilish, and like that for the real hair brushes i already have, but the other one i also like to try, and is available here in my country! For synthetic brushes, i use just normal soap, and for foundation brushes my Rinse off Foaming Cleanser (Clinique), i love how quick that works! But love to learn, learn, and learn here from you, and other people, thanks, and have a nice day!🖐🎉😘

Hi Michelle, can I give you a cleansing tip? When you use a brush spray on your brushes a better way to use a brush cleansing spray to is spray your paper towel or microfiber towel with the cleansing spray (do not spray directly on the brush) it can ruin your brush/ferrules and the alcohol can losen the glue on the brush over time. Instead spray the towel, lightly rub the brush where you put the cleanser on the towel and your brush will be just as clean. This method doesn't effect the ferrules. No spray gets on them this way and minimul spray is used to clean the brushes. Hope this helps. 😁 💜

I use micellar water to do my daily cleaning. I just spray it on the microfiber cloth, and rub the brush over. I do also use the Sephora spray as well when I feel a deeper cleaning is required. But because it's quite oily, I go over with the micellar water to get rid of the oil. So far it's working well with my synthetic and natural hair brushes.

Good morning my friend 😘. As I watch this video, I am ordering the brush soap on amazon lol. I was using the Sigma foam wash, and i didn’t like it at all. They never got white and clean feeling. I adore the Sigma mat so much. Your brushes, Sonia G and Repher are my go to loves. Great video. Love ya 💕💕
@irisk9345 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video, I use the Sigma cleaning pad as well, although not for my more delicate brushes. I also have the Sigma drying tree, which I really like. The upside down thing is so useful, b/c I always end up knocking my brushes off the sink if I leave them horizontal. I'll have to try the Dr. Bronners Castile soap as well as the daily brush cleaner. Right now I just use a microfiber cloth as well as washing in the sink.

Oooo, two new products and I'm excited! The Daily Cleaner and the Dr. Bronner's Unscented Baby Soap are brand new to me 🙈🙈 I've been using Granny's Soap Flakes. They are a UK brand and it's actual flakes of pure, unscented soap, which are dissolved in warm water. Unfortunately, it takes ages, 😉😉 Great vid, I really appreciate this. 💗💜💗

Beautylish recommended the beautysoclean daily brush cleaner for daily/spot cleaning, when I emailed them after my first natural hair brush purchases a few years ago. It’s fantastic and is gentle enough to use frequently between deep cleaning not to mention I can get it auto-shipped via amazon prime ... I’m going to purchase the Castle soap, I’ve seen several other people use/mention it also! One of the best tips Ive ever picked up is using organic/natural aloe to help condition/shape after washing. I think either Stephanie Nichole or Tarababy turned me on to this...

Thanks so much Michelle! I just got my first high end brushes.... and I was in way over my head with how to care for them but I think I have this under control now haha! Before my highest end brush was Sephora brand. Now I've got the Sonia G complete face and eye sets as well as about to order a Surratt concealer and Chikuhodo brow brush to complete my collection to suit my personal needs. I was always so focused on the expensive makeup and ignoring the brushes.... whole new world now!!!! Rephr also has a promo going right now, buy one get one free and also they have a concept promo, where you buy a concept brush, agree to give feedback and get a coupon for up to $35.00 off your next brush purchase. They also have THE BEST customer service ever!! The owner, Tom, was fantastic and could not have been more helpful and they do not give you a generic response when you email them. You actually interact with a real person. I did get my concept brush and it is awesome. The Sephora daily brush cleaner is the only brush cleaner I would recommend for fude. It's the only one I've found that is alcohol free and moisturizing. I have been eyeing the tower but haven’t committed to purchasing it yet. What I do is use my hair rubber bands, go to the towel bar in my bathroom, loop the band around the bar, and then stick the brush in the band so that the bristles are upside down. It works but the tower just seems handy. Is it hard to store though the tower though? I wouldn’t want it on my countertop all the time and it seems bulky for under the cabinet.

Good morning Michelle. Thanks for the info. I am currently researching and in the market to buy natural hair brushes. I am in mid life, I have 15 mins to get my make up on, and need to look put together so I can get to work. I was looking to buy Sonia G or Wayne Goss eye only however, your offer is comparable with the cost of eye and face together and I am considering ordering it. A side question, Charlotte Tilbury has mentioned her shadows do not produce fall out. Do you find this to be so and do the natural hair brushes minimize this along with better quicker placement for more “seasoned” eyes?

Nice post. Thank you! I have a brush drying stand but that Sigma one looks more compact & perhaps hold more brushes! I am probably an over washer. I worry about the residual oils from those daily cleaners breaking me out. I have many but over the years, continually have the Jane Iredale one. My fav. I do like those brush guards. I only use them on particular brushes & remove after they have dried a while. Sonia G's blog has some interesting information on brush drying/cleaning/shaping. Have you ever read all that stuff on that soap you use? My kids call it the Jesus soap. ;) 1 weird. I always rinse my brushes @ the end in cold water. Like real hair, seal the cuticles. Hehe Izzams of mine.
