how to take out and clean your carbs in a ninja 250 1989-2007 as well as 2008-2017 ninja 250 or any carbed bike for that matter epa screw adjustments are 2.5 runs out from fully closed and 17 mm for the float bowls song used

If you want stiff wire for cleaning jets you can buy a wire brush with long brushes like for welding and pull a section of the wires out with pliers. Copper wire is too soft.
@emmettturner94522 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that anything stiffer than the metals used in the carb are going to scratch it. That’s why people recommend brass wire.

@@onefixitman I wasn’t saying not to. Quite the opposite. :) Just saying to keep it in mind so you can choose the stiff wire brushes according to what they are made out of and what they will be used on. The same metal can be made more or less stiff by diameter but they will stay the same on the Mohs Hardness Scale.

Yeah that’s what I thought too but the shops never responded back to me and stated that I have a single carb. I have 2. So they were telling me false info and never got back to me with an invoice. Just said f it and started taking the bike apart to get to the carb. Fairly straightforward. Only hard part was getting the air box out imo.

Mo’s World sick! I’ll look out for the new videos. I also have a 2008 ninja 250 she’s got a little over 5k miles and it might be time to clean the carb since I have to keep the choke slightly on because the bike would run at a very low rpm and then stall out when I’m stopped. I guess that’s why they went to fuel injectors for the newer ninjas
@MosWrld1006 жыл бұрын
Edwin Martinez maybe try adjusting the idle rpm speed, once the bike is warmed up shut the choke all the way and adjust the idle by turning it. And put it around 1500, if that doesn’t work you can always try fuel system cleaner. I use an entire can of b12 chemtool even though it says use only a few cap fulls. But I use it before I go an a long ride so I put put the chemical fill up and ride until I have to fill up again it should clear up some minor stuff in the carbs. I don’t think it’s really necessary for you to take your carbs apart for something that small.

Where does Ur clear(yellow) line go to on the bike?? I have the 2 lines that hook up to the fuel tank but then I have another line that I don't know where it goes and I think that's why the bike won't start,, if u use starting fluid it'll start right up..till it burns off the starting fluid then it dies .. Iv cracked the bowel screw on both carbs and both of them are getting gas and the floats are working as they should but I don't seem to be getting gas from the bowels into the combustion chamber,,the slides and diaphragms all look good carbs were cleaned out cause it sat in a shed for 10 yrs and they wouldn't get gas at all so I used wire and cleaned out the jets floats ect .. then they started getting gas and filling up the bowels but it still won't start or run on its own

Where does the clearish-yellow hose go? Never saw it getting removed from anything, does it just suck air inside?
@MosWrld1006 жыл бұрын
Thea Rupert that yellow hose is called the fuel overflow drain hose, it doesn’t go anywhere and doesn’t suck air in. It’s if the carbs take in too much gas it dumps it out the side of the bike so the carbs don’t choke them selves with gas, you don’t have to remove it or clean it I would just leave it because it could be annoying to get it back on . Unless your line got damaged but if it’s Intact don’t remove it.
@MosWrld1006 жыл бұрын
Literally it’s a open hose that drains gas on the floor there’s no connection to it
@thearupert85386 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the quick response! Weird it just dumps gas out of the bike, one would think that would get corohsive.
@thearupert85386 жыл бұрын
Also, one more question: What did you end up using the caliper for?
@MosWrld1006 жыл бұрын
Thea Rupert it just dumps it out the side of the bike to the floor this line only works if there’s a problem like you flooded the carbs or there’s too much gas inside the carbs and it can’t run so the carbs just dump it on the floor the yellow hose is long enough that it gets dumped near your right foot. If you look closely you’ll also have 2 more hoses near your right foot / rear break one is called the coolant overflow and the other one holds any oil that the crank case just got rid off these 3 hoses are routed near the floor and just get dumped on the floor. It’s not a big amount of fluid it’s just tiny little drops and you never notice it unless you take the carb off and forget to drain them and tilt the carb to the side gas will come out that hose
