Good Job man. Very detailed information. Every other spring I usually pressure wash my driveway and pavers without sealing. Next spring I want to seal it for the first time. This is the information I needed. Atlanta, Ga.

Well done. Clear instructions and sensible and reasonable comments on those who may be tempted to 'skimp' on materials and aftercare.

I was told to leave my new block pave drive a year before sealing it so it could weather in and clear the brick salts. I have waited a bit longer and will take your advice about keeping it in good nick! Thanks!

I've bought the eco sealer but do you still need a viton seal sprayer with the eco sealant as I have a normal garden sprayer I could use.
@SmartsealUk3 жыл бұрын
You do not need a sprayer with Viton Seals Julian, but you might find your sprayer cannot handle the viscosity of the sealer (too thick) . There is a short video on our KZbin channel dedicated to the Eco Sealer. Regards, Smartseal Support

how do you brush away the sand from the surface of paving without getting rid of the sand in the paving itself? Thanks
@SmartsealUk3 жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks for your question.The pavers have a bevelled edge. The sand should be swept from the surface of the pavers and sit within the recessed bevel. Hope that helps. Regards, Rick@Smartseal

Thanks for the informative video. Would you advise sealing a block patio that is level ? It's an absolute pain to maintain it. I usually power-wash and re-sand every 2 years. Inevitably though the sand washes out with time in the rain, and the weeds come back. I thought about sealing to overcome this but I'm worried that sealing it may cause drainage, pooling issues? Any advice welcome !

Any patio or drive laid correctly should have at least a very slight 'fall' to enable water to run off, even if it is not visible to the naked eye. If this is the case, and your patio does not 'puddle' at the moment, this will not change by sealing it. The sealer applied correctly will stop the sand coming out and overall reduce the maintenance. Regular pressure washing is not a great idea as it does damage the surface of the blocks and increases the loss of colour. Hope that helps!

By the way, for a concrete paver patio, would you recommend the use of a polymeric sand like Dansand polymeric joint fix, or a normal kiln sand followed by a sealer treatment? I'm not sure what to go with. Thank you

How long will the product last?
@SmartsealUk2 жыл бұрын
The sealer will last many years, but a 'top-up' coat is recommended, approximately every 3-5 years.
