Great video. I wish I'd watched it before I did mine. I simply poured bags of sand down and the sweeping was all over the place 😂. Done now, but this would have saved me and the back alot of time. I know now for next time 😂

Nice vid Lee, really nice to see you're using a soft coco brush to brush in the sand which I prefer personally too, I see a lot of people using stiff brushes, with the soft coco brush it leaves hardly any sand behind unlike stiff brooms where it takes even longer to sweep excess sand along the area. Keep 'em coming mate. 👍

Hi bud, nice job. I'm wondering tho how many back of sand you used? My drive is 74m2 so not sure how many bags I'd need. Thanks
@completeexteriorcleaningse7505 ай бұрын
It varys as some blocks are tighter together than others but the general rule of thumb is a bag should do 20°M hope that helps thanks for watching and supporting the channel
@josephsalemi17707 ай бұрын
How many bags do you use for a patio of that size?
@completeexteriorcleaningse7507 ай бұрын
I think it was 1 bag if memory serves me correctly but it varys depending on the gaps as some block paving it laid nice and tight and some have larger gaps so obviously then you would use more sand I think a standard bag of kiln dried does 20 or 25 sq mtrs Thanks for watching and supporting the channel

Hi great video mate but can I ask a question? I want to use polymeric sand to prevent weeds and ants coming back but I’ve heard it will stop water draining away. Is that a problem ?
@completeexteriorcleaningse7508 ай бұрын
I've not heard of that I suggest normal sand and the just use a strong salt water treatment to keep the weeds at bay. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel
@junglebhoy7 Жыл бұрын
Do you spray weed killer in between the cobble before the sand bud?
@completeexteriorcleaningse750 Жыл бұрын
If the customer requests it I do a strong salt water treatment but the Hypo kills most weeds and organic growth Hope that helps

All well and good if you dont have to dig out weeds and soil first from the gaps. In real life this is a much longer job. I need to if any of the weed prevention link dried sand products actually work once they have set.
@completeexteriorcleaningse7508 ай бұрын
Hi when I pressure wash it rips out all the weeds and the Hypo acts like a weed killer but you can use a strong salt water after it's clean and you can buy weed inhibitoring dry kiln sand but it's expensive and I'm not sure how effective it is thans for watching and supporting the channel
@MichelGarciaH2 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't it be easier or more effective diagonally? Does it matter the direction?
@completeexteriorcleaningse7502 жыл бұрын
It may be but I just prefer a straight line and the soft coco brush gently brushes across the top of the blocks if you go straight or Diagonal

Instead of using sand, what if you used something like quickcrete (or any cement powder) and then gave it a light misting so that it set? Would that last longer and give a better result than just dry sand. Feel like it wouldn’t be long before all the sand had just blown out the gaps again
@completeexteriorcleaningse7509 ай бұрын
You could do but that's not something I would offer as it's extra cost most customers just prefer the standard sanding thanks for watching and supporting the channel
@mikee27733 ай бұрын
It would stain the pavers, cement colour
@completeexteriorcleaningse7503 ай бұрын
Not sire if it would crack as well as the there's not enough gap for enough purchase to set if that makes sense

Do you have to do the resanding straight away or will it wait for a while before the integrity of the blocks become compromised?
@completeexteriorcleaningse7502 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve you can wait a week I'd say 2 weeks max I wouldn't want to leave it any longer than that also just consider what's being parked on the blocks if it's just small cars your ok but if it's big 4x4s or vans the sooner the better but this can be dependent on weather of course

@completeexteriorcleaningse7502 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven it should be fine as once the sand drys out it will drop into the gaps but personally I would pop back and double check it it a day or so if it stays dry and touch in any sections that need doing
