`This is a well crafted video and clear demonstration of the differences between cleaning products and methods. I must make one correction to your belief. Those marks are not burn or scorch marks. If they were, then the only succesful removal process would be abrasion. No,that brown sticky residue is the result of converting organic material to fumes that contain tars and other products. This is condensed tar and can be wiped away with many such products including a damp cloth . There are many such KZbin recomendations for how to remove this residue but all seem to concentrate on a problem that should not exist in the first place. I stess that there is no criticism of this video because it does what is says on the tin. I just want to point out to those that land on this video that you should, instead, understand where the fumes come from . How and why do they finish up "painting" your materials,? Experiment and carefully observe. If you are successful then modify your cutting/engraving techniques to bypass this problem. It's no fantasy.

As others already pointed out is curing the symptoms not the disease itself. That residue is combination of wrong settings or in proper hardware config for the project. I still love the video as I do have problem with excessive tar buildup and it's a fault of a whipmy fan that can't properly remove the amount of fumes I produce I want to upgrade it to nice radial fan but it cost around 150$ so will be able to buy it after my first bigger project but for now I have to remove a lot tar. Perfect comparison, thx

Vinegar + very light sanding is my go to so far. I've also got acetone and alcohol that I haven't tried yet since the Venegar + Sanding seems the cheapest and does a really good job. I've only been at this for about 6 Months, but I've been at it about 6-12 Hours most Days and many it's wake to sleep. I am addicted to lasering!

It does, but used straight it can also turn the wood yellow.

Also some can be combined for better faster results. The pad AND white vinegar have dramatic results.

Great job but please let us know how you apply all the products to clean the plywood. Did you use a microfiber cloth? Or perhaps a 3M scotch brite to scrub with the product?

Did you use the magic eraser wet or dry, I use it Wet and it works well. I usually wipe mine with a microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol

Are you using just a rag with all the cleaning solutions? I thought I saw you use a scrub brush on some.
@brandymahoney5313Ай бұрын
If you go to settings you can slow the playback speed way down. When I did that it was easier to see that he used the scrub brush (along with the rag) on the mineral spirits and on the fast orange.

How did you apply and remove the fast orange? I’m actually trying to lighten my engraving, so that looks like a good option for me. Thanks!
