Thank you for the video and tips! Have a composite sink, loved at first but hard to clean with food stains and hard water deposits! I spray with vinegar and then bleach and scrub with Teflon sponge. Will try your tips for sure! Thanks.

Absolutely! The second tip has yet to fail us, no matter the stain. I buy a bulk supply of the melamine sponges and keep them on hand. Let us know how it works!

I have a Blanco sink in Biscuit. I discovered that spraying the sink with Clorox Clean Up Cleaner with Bleach (blue spray bottle) wipe the sink with a paper towel to distribute the cleaner evenly. Repeat the process using the same wet paper towel you used to distribute the cleaner, wait a minute then rinse thoroughly. This should remove all the built up food stains. Use this method to easily maintain your sink. It will get even cleaner if you keep it maintained. This worked for me I hope it does for you.

Thanks! I'm going with a Blanco Silgranit sink, but in anthracite or coal black or Cafe as I've been a coffee drinker lately. I currently have a 42-year-old Kohler cast iron in almond that has been perfect except I have deep pitted rust crawling from underneath the hudee ring and the Formica is worn out in areas so it's time for granite and a new undermount sink. My concern is going from porcelain to composite because currently all we do to clean ours is to fill them up with water before bed time and pour in a little bleach. In the morning they are clean, no matter what marked the bottom whether it be coffee or pots and pans. I wondered about the dishwasher packets working is what I was hoping to hear. We have Great Lakes water so mineral deposits are not much of an issue. Stainless was out from the get-go. It only looks good the day you install it. I get it that most could care less what the sink looks like inside as long as it is durable, and easy to clean from a sanitary perspective, which it does deliver on, and which makes it the perfect and inexpensive surface for countertops and backsplashes too. They are a perfect match for painted cabinets.

Hi Jack! Yes - Silgranit sinks are great. The dishwasher packets truly get the stains out well, and cleaning with a magic eraser is also easy (this is what we do the most often). When we were looking for sinks, we went to a showroom where the staff was using a darker color Silgranit sink. It was either coal black or anthracite. You could easily see that there was soap scum on it because of the darker color. However, I don't know if they cleaned it regularly. That's part of the reason we went with white. I hope that helps!

Thank you so much. I have a gray Blanco sink from 2007. It’s been great although it is getting a little pitted. My husband says the installer told him back then that we could a fine sand paper to remove the some of the pitting. What are your thoughts and recommendations.

magic eraser works great. any ideas about stullf between counter top and sink, seems black.

That does nothing to clean the calcium stains, it just temporarily covers it up. Just clean with Comet/Ajax and a Scotch Bright pad once or twice a week and you wont need that stupid oil.
