I use Barkeepers Friend after ever use of my cookware. I love it. Wish you would have cleaned up the entire pan to show people how impressive this product is.

Follow for part 2 where he cleans the rest of the pan with some elbow grease, and one hour of scrubbing until you decide to bring in the Brillo pad. :)

Thanks for the video. I have a question about safely removing this from your pan. I think I may be a little paranoid about making sure I dont leave any residue when I'm done using it. Is it really as simple as just thoroughly rinsing the pan with water to get it all off or would you recommend a dish soap scrub afterwards to ensure everything is off. This stuff is poisonous so I'm kinda shocked there isnt more emphasis put into making sure it is completely removed from your cookware.

I usually wash it four times in a row with a dish detergent (think Dawn soap) just to be sure. I'm not sure if what I am doing is overkill, but I haven't died yet. 😀 Do what you will with this information.

You can also use comet. It's non scratch. Used it on my mom's Revere ware. Stainless steel scrubbers work awesome too

If the pan has a stainless steel handle then put the pan into your oven and set the oven to self clean. Then to remove the tarnish from the pan put it into a bucket of vinegar.

Make sure your stainless steel can handle something that hot first.

First, who would let a pan get filthy black like that before cleaning it??? Yuck. Get a big pan into which that little pan can be submerged. Fill the big pot with equal parts of water and vinegar. Boil for 10 minutes and then let it sit overnight. The burnt grease will soften and Barkeepers Friend will make it shine. In the future, put pans in the dishwasher after every use and you won't ever have to scrub it like that again. My stainless pans still look brand new after 15 years!

What about pitting? I use BKF after every use because I don't like them to accumulate grease or get the rainbows on the bottom. However, my pans get those dots that make them look like stuck-on particles and no amount of scrubbing with BKF will take them off. Even on new pans after one or two uses. It seems like the better quality pans get it more than the cheapy steel. Any advice?
@dededenver95605 жыл бұрын
@@esthermelchor9681 pitting is generally due to salt being added to water that isn't boiling. The grains of salt sit on the bottom of the pan and cause corrosion. We think that stainless is impervious, but salt is a corrosive. So wait until water comes up to a boil before adding salt, or immediately stir it to dissolve the crystals so they don't sit there in the pan. Hope that helps. 😊

@@esthermelchor9681 my pleasure. The dishwasher doesn't always remove every little thing, but the entire pan is thoroughly degreased so the outside surfaces of the pan stay super clean as well. Sometimes I use a little BKF to shine up the inside if needed. Easy!

Bleach and vinegar are reactive together and causes toxic chemicals that can make you pass out.
