Thanks! Your video is Google's top response when I searched for how to clean an armature. I tried to clean up a harbor freight angle grinder with a pencil eraser 😂 I think I'll go get some contact cleaner and borrow my wife's toothbrush to do it right!

The only thing I have available locally is CRC "QR Electronic cleaner" -- is that ok to use in place of electric contact cleaner?

In my own research, I have found that yes, it is okay to use. I have read that it can attack lubricants, so be sure to relubricate anything that comes in contact with the cleaner. I would advise you do some research for yourself, though.
