How to clean vintage bicycle wheels in 5 easy steps

In this video I’m going to give you some tips on how to clean vintage bicycle wheels. In this case wheels for my Bridgestone Submariner.
Relative to the bicycle itself these 40+ year-old wheels are in good condition. They have stainless steel Araya rims, with stainless steel spokes and a slightly pitted chromed hubs.
Considering the amount of crud on the hubs they were probably not cleaned in decades.

I have a vintage Schwinn beach cruiser from the early 80’s and the hubs are aluminum I do my best to get it shiny it hard to get inside the hubs sometimes I just take my time

i saw a Campagnolo Atlanta 96 road bike wheelset online locally for 180$. Some spokes seemed to have the nickel off, and yellow showing from underneath. Not sure how those were coated otherwise i'd buy to restore.

I put the bearings in a plastic jar with white spirit to remove the grease, then cleaned them with an ordinary towel.
