How to clean yaris/vitz throttle body|engine vibration issue|engine shaking issue

Worth cleaning your PCV while under there,it's so overlooked & forgotten about....very important to do.

Take off you throttle body (TB) held by the 4 bolts. There is no need to take off the coolant lines or to unplug the TB wiring harness. Unplugging the harness will simply interfere with your ECU's idle procedure and the ECU will take some take some re-adjust itself. Turn the key to the on position but DON'T crank the engine, have someone or something press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and the throttle plate will open to its fullest so you can clean inside the throttle body. As you are there, take out the MAP sensor, (the 1KR-FE 3 cylinder engine does not have a MAF sensor) use either electronic parts cleaner or MAF sensor cleaner, allow to dry and re-install. This is a common recurring procedure I perform at regular intervals with the 1KR-FE engine. Too much back pressure causes oil smear on the MAP sensor and carbon deposits inside the throttle body. However, regular cleaning will have your engine running normal and you will have far less vibration and reducing the risk of the engine stalling out. Cheers!

Hey I have a question, if I took those connectors (I have done that before reading this comment) is there anything I can do to fix floating idle rpm? (It goes up and down 1-2k rpm). I did drove it around 50km and it's better (now it cranks to 3k rpm instead first time at 5.5k) however this idle stays the same.

Hello are you familiar with the issue of cold starts in the morning? On the first attemp it sounds like the starter is stuck..but when you switch off and start again the car starts just fine.

The throttle body also does have air orifices which are dedicated to supply engine with air while the throttle is shut and the engine idles. Remove also clog deposits off which prevent sufficient air intake while idling causing vibration. The throttle itself acts while accelerator cranked and engine revs, but while idling- air orifices facilitate air suck into the engine.
