How to Clean your 275 GAL IBC TOTE

This is how I simply Clean
Using for Water collection
For our Home Gardening
275gal each x 2
Good enough for summer
Save lot of money
Coz water bill here in town are too high
Simple way to Clean
Using
(Baking Soda
Vinegar, dish soap, and add water)
Then drive around the corner for a mile ,
Then going backhome turn upside down
Then rinse water....
You are good to go...

This is a very interesting strategy! Thanks for sharing. We have a Pump and CIP spray ball that we are going to try first. If that fails we will be trying this!

How many ounces of dish detergent and vinegar did you add? It didn't look like you measured it.

I simply put the whole gallon of Vinegar each....the stronger the better

Vinegar and baking soda neutralise each other. One at a time, maybe. Together, no.

@@Angelsum143 Nah, not a youtube keyboard warrior, someone with university education in Chemistry and the owner of multiple bases and acids in carefully isolated storage to avoid a small scale Beirut explosion. Putting them in together means you're washing with a bunch of salt plus which ever one you put more of in. Just figure out which is which and only put that in.... it'll be no different.

@@Angelsum143 if you think acetic acid and baking soda make anything other than CO2 and salts think again. Salts don't clean anything, period. An imbalance in this neutralising mixture will result in EITHER baking soda solution with salt or acetic acis with salt, whereas a perfect mix results in just salt. Learn from me, it's in your power to do so. Don't be defensive when not under attack and don't throw away this learning opportunity...

Have you tried a Freedom IBC Liner? Much easier and guaranteed virgin interior surface.

I'm interested in the liner, what else can work if I don't own a Venturi valve??

The Venturi valve is great as we add a trigger so that it can be slowed down easily. A shop vac will do but the challenge is that it pulls at one constant (very high) volume. To slow it down, add a hose the to end and cut a hole in the side of the hose. Then use your hand to cover the hole (speed it up) or uncover (slow it down).@@southernyankeeprepper

From what I have observed by watching the video, is that he conveyed the water into the ibc totes by way of garden hose. I hope that this clarifies the questions.

This is a waste of vinegar and baking soda. You’ll be better off using them SEPARATELY. Mr. Wizard’s “tote volcano” here winds up being just a bucket of soapy salty water. If you paid attention in 4th grade science class you’d know this.
