Great video as always to maintain the hvac during this coming summer. I see some comments not recommending a coil cleaner, and just use water. Guess just depends on preference. Seems only using water is the safest to stay away from any chemicals. But guess just depends on how much of a “heavy” cleaning you need. That’s what’s great about the comments. Get Different perspectives and tips ☺️

Coil cleaner is the worst thing you can use, it will corrode your coils. All you need is water

That fuse holder is designed to flip over and go back in. The on/off is written the opposite way so whichever you can read while its plugged in is what you got. That way you always have it safe.

I think for Microchannel coils you have to use cleaners that specifically state that it’s safe for them.

I know crap about this. But would almost tend to agree with a below comment to not use a cleaner besides water. However you didn’t even use but a shower water that I know is best. So there’s two sides of this video. I also learned that I am expected to do it twice a year. I wish I knew which two times. I would guess somewhere at end of spring to clear pollen and towards end of fall for most of USA person. But all thing depends where you are or their seasons in their hemisphere. Good video as I learned something. I didn’t see anyone saying that you shouldn’t clean ac twice a year. And I didn’t know I ever had to clean it. Well. Mostly. Lovely.

I rinse mine out once a month but I don’t remove sides I wait for the bi-yearly visit from the ac guy to let him do the deep clean but it’s very important during pollen season to rinse once weekly if you have a lot of oak trees or other heavy pollen problems lol

I rather do myself I was quoted $1,800 for coil cleaning. The A/C person comes by yearly just checks. What needs to be done. And my whole system inside and outside is 6 years old Trane.

What I am seeing is that the $150 annual subscription to maintain conditioner 2x a year that an air guy suggested is worth it.

If this helped some people learn about their A/C system.... You should probably do a follow up video showing what needs to be done to the evaporator coil... I found out the hard way how a dirty evaporator coil will kill your system... What about the air filters that some people do not change Good video...
