Although done right ish. You should have an already hot griddle when applying water. As to turn it into steam. And it semi burn off rather than pool up. Also the Steam effect loosens debris quicker and easier. Kind of like the system used for cast Iron pans. Nice griddle though!

I have found the best way to clean the griddle or the way I do mine, as soon as the food is off the griddle, and it it still hot, scrape down whatever food is left on the hot griddle, hit it with some water, wipe off with paper towel and add a small amount of oil with paper towel and allow it to cool then add cover.

I do similar. Right after food I scrap it down with water. Then use scotts shop lint free paper towel to wipe it down. Put oil on it with paper towel let oil burn like when you first season it. After it cools then I put another coat of oil or what I have recently found non stick olive oil spray spread around with scotts shop lint free paper towel. Works perfect. Like poster of video less then 5 minutes. Probably 2 minutes. Eat food while cooling down.

This is what I’ve been doing but after hitting it with plenty of water and scraping, my paper towels are still pretty gross... as if I didn’t clean it well. Is this normal?
@jerryhubbard44614 жыл бұрын
@@81snickerdoodle yes. Being outside and in the moist air when it is cooled down, it is going to rust. All you can do it keep clean with water but not soap as it will remover a lot of the seasoning. They do make a grill rock. Not sure what it is made of but it smells like rotten eggs the you use it. Restaurants use this stuff to clean their flattops. Just keep a light coat of oil on it. Best you can do. If it continues have the heavy rust or just won't clean, you can use sand paper about 220 grit and take all the rust and seasoning off and re-season.

I have a food cart business with a griddle. How to clean a griddle a lot depends on how hot and how dirty it is. Sure you can do it in 5 minutes if you don't cook much but if you cooked for a lot of peaple it takes longer of course.when you season your griddle it makes no difference what type of oil. Just for the record I use vegetable oil. When I clean it I use water and vinager. Terry towels and maybe a few napkins or paper towels. Grill screens work well but the grill brick sucks.

Adam Austin wrong, scrap of any excess material, wipe surface then add water while griddle is on , scrap away again then dry then let griddle cool right down then add oil when cool
@fredclark33955 жыл бұрын
OK... these cleaning instructions for the griddle came from Blackstone's website: Cleaning is easy! All you need is a metal spatula, paper towels, hot water, a scouring pad, and cooking oil. Here’s the steps: 1. Let the griddle cool down after cooking. We don’t want any burned hands! 2. Scrape the surface with a metal spatula or scraper; 3. Wipe it down with a paper towel. You can use a dishcloth, but it can get greasy; 4. Pour some water onto the griddle while it’s still warm. Don’t use soap! The hot water will make it easier for the harder residue to come off; 5. Rub a nylon scouring pad gently on the surface 6. Rinse off the water with paper towels 7. Dry it gently with a cloth to avoid rust After you’re done with the cleaning. Don’t forget to season your griddle.All you have to do is rub the surface with oil. Then store it somewhere that’s cool and dry. This final layer of oil protects the flat top from rust. Source: www.blackstoneproducts.com/how-to-take-care-of-your-griddle-complete-guide/ I swear to Judas.... I don't understand why people don't check the manufacturer's website (if available) first?
@GlaciusDreams4 жыл бұрын
Well buddy. The people above gave you a perfectly good process. In fact their process may be superior with the caveat of burns becoming a possibility. However you clean it, get it clean and leave a thin layer of oil. Also use the griddle often is my trick. Try to use it once a week.
