UPDATE: To lock the sensor in place: In the Setup menu choose Cleaning Mode, perform the sensor clean shake by pressing Enter, and then (after the shake) the sensor is locked in place and you can perform a manual clean. Turn off the camera when finished cleaning. Stabilisation is reactivated when the camera is turned on again.

When you run a Sony camera with IBIS in cleaning mode first it locks the sensor as long as you don't turn it off. Also I've heard that the Eclipse Aero-clipse is the solution to use on Sony sensors.

I literally just got back from my local camera shop and they said the same thing, Aero-Clipse and PSI Sensorswap Ultra for FF Sony Mirrorless cameras. Well, off to give it a shot now ...

Wohoo made me a bit calmer😅 Couple months after I got my a7iii I needed to clean it for the first time and I wasn't really sure how to deal with the fact that it's moving (after a while I found out the lock on mode - a7iii has it). Good to know that you can clean it even when the sensor is not still😊

Very timely, Chris.I have three big dust spots on my sensor and was planning to do my first ever clean. I have also read that with the Sony you should perform the in camera cleaning program first but then not turn the power off and this will "lock" the sensor - is that true? Have fun with the big wedding!

Possibly, but I haven’t tried it like that. I only really wanna show you guys how I done it cause I know it works haha

@@ChrisTurnerPhotographer I trust you, Chris! I think I will be fine and I do have a light hand . I understand that the sensors are a little sturdier than one would think.

ve sensor pointing down wen you blow it out..
@ColdCoffeePhotography5 жыл бұрын
Jesus so much bad advice in this vlog, need to lock the sensor before cleaning, turn camera upside down when blowing out, never put the swab down once opened & use a swab for 2 passes max - one in each direction so one swipe for either side of the swab

how you want to spot a dust on sensor?

Very helpful tutorial. But somebody swapped my optic fluid with some kind of glue, now the brush stays on the sensor.

You should withdraw this video. Sensor stabilisation should be locked off. Not everyone reads the comments.
