Ever want a standard operating procedure for interior details -- one that you can do without all the fancy tools? This is the video for you.
Nick and Yvan go through a step-by-step, pre-sale detail (useful to know, since a pre sale detail is all about hitting the spots that a potential buyer or even a real customer would notice). No, we don't use an air compressor or a steamer. But we use these:
INTERIOR TOWEL: bit.ly/InteriorTowel
INTERIOR CLEAN & PROTECT: bit.ly/InteriorCleanProtect
COATING LEVELING TOWEL (for windows): bit.ly/CoatingLevelingTowel
CRYSTAL CLEAR GLASS CLEANER: bit.ly/CrystalClearGlassCleaner
RINSELESS WASH (nice to have if you don't have Interior Clean & Protect, it works great for just about everything including door jambs and windows): bit.ly/RinselessWash
(As promised, here's the previous pre-sale detail video! • EASY Pre-Sale Detail: ... )

Using a circular brush attachment to a shop vac works ideally for vents and the dashboard & nooks & crannies. The brush agitates everything and the powerful vacuum in the middle sucks everything up instantly. Makes it go so much faster too.

At home, I detail my entire car in a dark underground garage, and I use a powerful headtorch that has a wide, even, beam. The surrounding darkness actually HELPS me see things - it's a great way to detail. The only caveat is that sometimes the light needs to come from a different angle to see stuff, so it helps to supplement with a handheld light. (or simply remove the headtorch). What I've noticed is that the light source should ideally shine at the surface perpendicularly, and it's not easy to move one's head to look directly perpendicularly in all areas (e.g the windshield, lower panels etc)

Looking at your website link for the free and clear window cleaner. The information on the product is very limited. My first concern is ingredients...does it contain ammonia. I clean houses for a living and use method products, which we quite like. Obviously there for home use. I do understand detailing a car requires specific types of chemicals. It would be nice to have more details describing why your products are worth the cost. I've been studying car detailing as a possible addition to our business. I'm new to the modern ways...and the variety of products is staggering. Thank you for your detailed videos.

You got it! One thing I can promise you -- our products work. There are a lot of products people try (based on marketing and big names) when they start detailing. Most of those products are tried because of excellent marketing, not quality. Our goal was to change that. Try us as a new detailer and you'll get what we say -- high quality products that are easy to use, and you won't feel disappointed or betrayed and feel the need to seek something else out. You've come to the right place:) We actually do have SDS sheets available online. Hey guys- I bought a new Jeep Wrangler in the fall. It is my daily driver. I plan on having the top and doors off more days than not. It lives in a garage at night. Not so much when I'm at work during the day. What do I use for protection? I'm assuming the interior clean and protect as well as the interior ceramic. The real question is how often should I be applying these? Do I need to reapply the ceramic when it get's rained on? Interior is black, seats are NOT cloth, floors are carpeted however they are covered with weather tech mats front, rear and back. Oh, my parking spot only get's morning sun. Any advice you can provide is appreciated. Just so you don't think I'm too nuts- I live less than a mile away and there is a parking garage within a block- Both viable options when an unexpected thunderstorm blows in

No buffer machine to clean the seats, I'm so disappointed! Spot clean your interior every wash, all the touch surfaces like steering wheel, shifter, touchscreen, door handle. Interior C&P is great or keep a bottle of rinseless wash mixed up, you can buy and fill a 4oz spray bottle to keep in the center console with a towel. It'll take you literally a minute each car wash to wipe these areas down and make the car more enjoyable to use. Every 2-3 months, I'll do a comprehensive rinseless wash wipedown on the interior, when I feel the inside of windows is getting a haze for example. Use a small contractor bucket from Home Depot, fill it half full which is 1 gallon, add a capful of rinseless, good to go, mixing made easy. Ensure to ring out the towel so it's damp but no drips, go back to rinse and ring out as much as you like. Use the power of dwell time on dirty areas, wipe and wait 15-20 seconds then wipe again before you try using a stronger chemical or abrasive media. Dry dust the vents with a soft detail brush or paint brush works too, but if cleaner is needed dip into the rinseless then shake out excess, clean the vents, and use a 2nd dry brush to finish or blow with air if you have it. Sequence: windows first, then go top down, spot clean the headliner, A+B pillars, gently wipe the seat belts, dash top, steering wheel and instrument cluster, center stack inc touchscreen, console/shifter/cupholders, arm rest, then I'll do the seats if leather and door panel opening by opening, and finish with kick panels with a melamine sponge very lightly on any scuffs and finish the door jambs if needed. To maintenance clean fabric, mix a teaspoon of Woolite into a 500ml/16oz bottle (like a spare DIY bottle) and fill the rest with water. Spray liberally onto a microfibre towel and wipe the seat or carpet (or headliner!), if dirty keep repeating using a clean side of the towel, then use a dry microfibre towel to buff until dry, keep flipping to a dry side of the towel to ensure no more liquid is being picked up. Whatever is left on the fabric will dry quickly, typically within 30 minutes. Vacuum regularly! Get a cordless vacuum and make it easy on yourself, otherwise you probably won't do it often enough. I have a Ryobi cordless that looks like a tool box, other tool manufacturers make them too, it's got too power for maintenance cleaning. And I have two extension wands so I can literally open a door, stand there and vacuum for 10-15 seconds and I'm done, move to the next opening. Again make it easy on yourself and you'll do it more often.
