I never took the spring out and that video that was a cleaning but if I need two I could completely disassemble it. But I did not have a need to do so because I can generally clean it good enough and that Sophie water what's a light toothbrush.

As long as you can get all the water out you don't need to remove the internal parts. Really hot water, towel dry, use a compressed air can to blow out the internals, WD40 the internals to remove any left over moisture, and finally oil the entire firearm. Ballistol works great and doesn't damage wood or finishes. Plus it's non toxic.
