If you're a homeowner doing this for yourself, you can use white vinegar instead of the muriatic acid. You'll just need to let it sit for up to 24 hours depending on how much calcium buildup is in the cell. Just make sure to keep your pool pump etc. off for as long as the cell is disconnected.

You forgot to show people how to turn the power back on and for leaks, probably the most important part of this job!!!! Always use PPE and at the least wear rubber gloves when handing acid!

When you say make the acid solution 25%, is that using 25% of the already cut acids that you buy at Home Deport and dilute with 75% water?

I think you are supposed to dilute the 25%. Most muratic acid solutions come at 25% concentration. I diluted the 25% with 4 part water, 1 part acid and it worked wonderfully. Keep in mind muratic acid, even the diluted version is really strong so be really careful when handling it

@@abhaychitta4269 yes that's correct, the muratic acid is sold deluded between 10-30%, you should delute it further for cleaning the salt cell (less the lower the starting amount)

Dump the acid into the pool wont hurt anything it’s a low volume amount

You can also use it again but as someone else said, if your ph is on the higher side, you can use the acid to lower it
