My pool has a non gfci 20amp 2 pole breaker. When I turn the breaker off the salt cell, pump and gas heater turn off. Is it normal to have all three of those wired to that one breaker? If I decide to switch out to the Pentair GFCI breaker is it just as simple as replacing it still controlling all three items? The only other breaker I have is a 15 amp single pole non gfci which controls the control panel and sends power to the GFCI receptacle on the side which then has my lights running through the GFCI receptacle. Can anyone tell me if chlorine is still being produced when the “Inspect Cell” light is flashing green? The cell has just been cleaned and if it’s at its end of life this will be the 3rd Intellichlor in 7 years! So much for paying extra for what I thought was premium quality Pentair equipment. I’ve had problems with the heater since year 2 as well.

Great video. You're the ONLY video in the entire Internet that talks about the Pentair COM Port Expansion board at 30:40 and how to connect it and how it's used. For others searching - Basically it is a shared bus whereby you can expand your one Pentair J20 COM Port to 2 (should have been more but you can daisy chain these expansion modules but it will lower some voltage depending on concurrent access). You need 2 so you can plug 1 to your Wired Indoor Panel and 2nd to your Screenlogic Wifi Adapter. Board J20 <-> Com port Expansion module J1. And J2 to Wired Indoor Panel and J3 to ScreenLogic Wifi Adapter. It's a shame Pentair charges $750 for the Screenlogic and so much for the board and does not even put proper expansion ports in it. It's like buying a PC with 1 USB port only. We need cheaper alternatives.

Hi Craig, I have the ic20, and it has salt, and is not making alot of chlorine. Last measurement was .72- Any idea why it is doing this? I had it at 3 dots, 60% All chemicals are in balance from CYA- calcium, etc

How do I turn on the flickering light that simulates a fire on the Magic Bowl? I can change the light colors and different intellibrite light shows on the app but not able to get the flickering red light back on that looks like a fire. It was working before I started changing colors in the app.

My Jandy controller as seen in your video is not keeping the correct time. I thought it might be the pda controller so I took the battery’s out and just started controlling on the webpage seemed to work for a couple days and now isn’t keeping the correct time. How do you do what model you have?????

I have a question I have the same jandy controller your showing in the video and also the jandy PDA for that controller. My pda will not keep the correct time at all . I have replaced the battery’s and as far as can see that is about the only thing you can do. Is there anything else I can do to fix this problem. Thank you

So it’s okay to do all this during the summer?? Won’t water come rushing in if I open the valve from the top? I’m assuming it’s not good to do this during the winter months when everything is winterized and blown out.

Does this pump work with in floor cleaning systems

I have manually moved the impeller. I have moved the "aimer." No avail. Each power on, I select the cycle. The blue light comes on, and it inches forward barely, then stops. Nothing. The blue light is also no longer blinking. Any ideas?

Just bought one. Doesnt work. Ran it twice.. 3 hours. Pool still full of debris on the bottom.

That's it. I'm out. This is the second 40k Pentair salt generator that failed in two years. I'm done. Going to chlorine tabs. Way cheaper than constantly shelling out $1,000. $1,000 item that cannot be repaired because Pentair doesn't subscribe to right to repair.

IF cleaning the impeller doesn't work, here's what I did in addition: The next few power ON cycles, I spun the impeller forward and backward by hand AND moved the square piece that "aims" the water (just above the impeller) side to side gently to make sure it was moving freely. It has run several startups with no problem since :)

What an unbelievably bad looking hack job... If you'd of at least taken two minutes to of run a few pieces of painter's tape along the tile line it wouldn't look like a five year old or a drunken sailor smeared the sealant all over the place. The optics of the finished job looks at best like a horrible homeowner DIY repair attempt gone bad.
