Hi i had 1 question. My WhatsApp data is showing 25.71GB. What of I uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp application - will I loose all the chats and media shared across??? (i haven’t backed up WhatsApp data on iCloud as I don’t wish to purchase it) Please let me know… Thanks in advance 😊

Hello bro, Yes. you will loose all the chats and media contents. It is recommended to reduce the storage overall by deleting unwanted whatsapp media attachments as suggested in the video. navigate inside storage settings in whatsapp, delete unwanted contents and if the overall size reduced to something that can fit into free icloud storage or you can buy one month plan temporarily to take full backup of whatsapp to do the reinstallation and restore process. that will help. Important thing to remember is, if we fail to restore whatsapp backup from icloud after the first time reinstalling it, then we will loose the data. Its whatsapp side setting. So if possible you may take backup of full iPhone locally using iTunes (windows) or Finder app (macOS) and then performing any steps is recommended. WHy you want to reinstall Whatsapp? any issues?

@@dailytut hey thanks for the reply bro. 😎 Reason why i wanted to reinstall WhatsApp is bcoz of the amount of storage it’s taking. (26GB approx) But i will delete unwanted media so that my storage gets reduced.

What? This doesn’t work. There is no manage storage section

Yes there is

This is fundamentally very wrong bro. Reinstalling an app to reduce cache.

Agreed. This is the only work around right now and I suspect its due to iOS 17 bug apps are started to take more storage bro. necessary cache management should be implemented by the developers and as I mentioned in the video, over upcoming updates we will see it getting fixed. that 5GB+ storage wont be happening within a week or two. but if it happens in over few weeks usage, then till we receive the fix, this is the possible fix.
