I'm not a racer. I'm a 58 year old clydesdale but I can still climb. I have done Skyuka, Sassafras, Mitchell, and several other big climbs here in the Carolinas in the last year. My body sends me the same kind of messages that the really good climbers get from theirs and that's good to know. "Get off this bike! This is too steep! I'm going to cramp!" I love doing this....... Hope Chris can win another Tour.

look at the bike flex at 2:16 wow...
@FlintF
@FlintF 8 жыл бұрын
+Matt Clegg Initially I thought that was what I saw as well. But these are carbon frames, they're not flexible at all. I'm just thinking it's all optical illusion.
@bengriffithsseaangling2138
@bengriffithsseaangling2138 8 жыл бұрын
+Matt Clegg Carbon is fairly strong, however it does flex to a degree, it would be a horrible cycling experience if it didn't have the slight flex. Climbing bikes do have more of a flex to them than say an aero frame which is designed to be as stiff as possible, but then is increased in weight. As Froome says, that weight gain is essential, and sacrificing a little flex is worth the weight loss. can't forget the fact Froome is a proper 'spin it to win it' kind of guy, the flex wouldn't bother him as much as it would bother a rider like Contador.

they are born that way. When you see how Contador or Froome climbs, they are genetically built like that, 99% of people cannot get close there by training believe me. It's similar to marathon running, some Kenyan guys after few months of training could already sustain 15km/h+ for at least 20kms, I mean most of us need to train our entire life to get close to there.

Nowadays I am very suspicious of such sayings. I look back with a bit of grin on LA. It's emotionally satisfying to hear how something is done. But I am now always leaving room for a shocker. It could probably be a different system of bypassing what we have been told are the rules.

Take a dope, stage hacking of your medical data, talk about clean sport every now and then, talk about cadence like it's something new in cycling, when there is too much heat let someone mention Lance Armstrong because he is the one who'll take all the blame for saving clean cycling while others talk bs how Froome practiced climbs by holding his brakes... Yeah, new cycling era...

Hilarious. Always the same message; I hope one day common sense will prevail over money and ego. There are things called honor and hard work. Obviously, you skipped the first one. Too bad real legends don't make results. Seriously, cut the crap; you doped and still doing it. Best result from Froome before being number one climber, I believe near the 100st place (TDF); now he's the best... is there any such things as physical limit (VO2max) ? :/ I don't believe in miracle; science will soon discover what you've been using...
@weerawarakul1817
@weerawarakul1817 9 жыл бұрын
lol Time change everything mate, lighter bike, training session, nutrition it all changed for the past decade. And Froome ride as a domestiq before his GC day at Sky. He beat Wiggo TT at veulta and end up take 2nd place ahead of Wiggo There's no miracle but there's a result from hard work. He has physical limit and he know it, that's why he's always ride by looking at his powermeter. Froome not the best, just one among the best.
@JaffaLikesItHard

Thomas Jacquet they said he got under medical treatment after his first TDF because of some bloodcell-disease. after that he destroyed most of his competitors. wondering what kind of medical treatment they gave him lol
@thomasjacquet3449
@thomasjacquet3449 9 жыл бұрын
weera warakul Lighter bike? I believe there is a limit... - that is a rule! / Training? Methods have not changed... You can reach your maximum simply by riding your bike everyday; you will reach your limit NATURALLY ;) / Nutrition? You mean weight? Is there a new type of food that makes you stronger (OGM beef ^^, cheat lol). Plus, they cannot go under a certain weight, simply because of health issues... Anybody can go under a certain weight, even if it was 10 to 15 years ago! / Domestic? there are climbers who ride for they leader till the very end (Popovitch for Contador, 2007), that means they have some talent. So tell me why Froome, who has an incredible talent, could not go with his leader in some of the last climbs? May be because he have not used banned substances (or genetic modifications) like he do now... / In 2008 TDF: place = 83 and now he is on top... logic?

***** Prove what? VO2max exist! You can open books and read right? Everyone has a physical limit; if you are a professional in sport, you will reach your limit very soon, by training 4 or 5 times a week for example. So how the H*** is he so much stronger now? What is the difference? Doping is the only plausible answer! So cut it out.
