This guy is just a good teacher. If he ever decides to stop doing things with League, he should go into some sort of education job. I've already been diamond, but I took a long break and I came back casually to play with real life people (who are new to the game) and I wanted to refresh, and this video is a great TL:DR. Even things like the wave management part; push to create leads, freeze to extend or maintain them, leave it at that.

agree with mobility, the sad thing is you can win lane, or you can play a lane you cannot win but can farm, and bot loses, they come mid you defended your tower well and it doesnt matter cause they force take down your tower, dive you etc. if you can somehow stall have great waveclear and not allow for that mid tower to fall, enemy cannot progress

Hey shok i appreciate the video tho I believe that many of these concepts can not be properly conceptualized by lower elo players. I noticed the same thing years ago, I couldnt really apply the knowledge to my own games as I was lacking fundamental knowledge** and practice** . What skyrocketed my climb was your fundamentals video 2-3 years ago I think. These were pure gold and I would like to see them updated as I think the game has evolved a bit in my opinion. Thanks for the great videos and for uploading often you the goat.

imo none of them really need updating from a gameplay pov, I don't think the game has changed much. That being said they could definitely use some production quality updates

Shok i wish you could explain horizon focus item, i cant understand it despite being almost platinum, i just dont understand this item when its good on what and how and why

Champ has crazy range? Buy Horizon Focus. Skills with crazy range gives true sight on a huge area around the champ hit. That champ and other enemies who were hit by true sight now takes 10% extra damage from all your skills. Normally is good when you're against champs that get invisible often, like Akali, or when you're against all squishies that you can just burst then with the extra damage. Don't think it feels good when you're against a lot of beefier champs, mainly because you'll want Liandry's second item and HF generally are not good built after that. Horizon Focus is also insane on Hwei most of the time.

It's cheap with good stats and can be used by basically anyone, it just serves as a really good second item if nothing else is better e.g. shadowflame as solo ap, liandry vs tanks, zhonya/banshee for resists etc

i otp ekko , i used to play akshan and panth but i cant enjoy really well when playing one specific champ so should i just pick 3 or 4 champs and play with them. i was thinking of choosing vex , ekko and akshan

Yeah a pool of 3 or 4 is completely fine. Vex, Ekko, Akshan sounds solid.

Why do you get better teammates if you are off role? I don't understand why it would be harder to climb when you are on your main role

You only get filled into off-role if your preferred role is popular. If you get filled, then there is a high probability that at least the person on your primary role plays their primary. If you are prepared to play well in that situation then this creates an advantage compared to when you get your primary but the other person gets filled and they cannot handle it well. Basically: you have control over how you prepare for a difficult situation, but you have no control over whether others prepare for a difficult situation.

I think the system also recognizes youre not playing your main role so it counts as if youre slightly lower in Elo and compensates with better teammates or worse opponents

Just because you're more likely to get all your teammates on-role which makes a big difference in soloq

Basically you need to be ahead enough in your 1v1 that if a fight does break out mid you can take significant gold in the sidelane

What about champ simplicity? I am Silver and I am talking to a high bronze player who wants a duo. They're a mid main, and play a lot of Katarina but have a bad win rate. Meanwhile on Malzhar they have a much better win rate. Kata seems quite bad in bronze/silver. Not sure how to convince them though. I am a top main and Garen OTP.

Yeah champ simplicity is OP, easy to execute champs and gameplans are king up until diamond+ if not higher

I don’t understand how to climb I’ve been playing for a year now and I am going no where My friends just tell me to farm and which is important but will not help me get out of a lower elo I don’t know how to keep a lead I don’t know how to come back I don’t know if I’m in the best role I’ve tried them all and now I’m at a point to where I’m stuck and am ready to rip my hair out lol League can be toxic as hell And a lot of people get tilted real fast My self included at times I mainly play mid as assassins My first ever champ I played was Akali who is a hard difficulty champ But I wanted that because she was the first I fell in love with playing now it’s Qyiana I got Akalis mechanics down and now I dabbled with other assassins I’ve tried adc top support And jungle and I do okay but I still get stuck at the same spot and I’m not kidding when I say I’m a 0lp in iron 4 my Mmr is probably trash when I get a chance to move up a tier I get someone who leaves after remake is available or the other team is winning 12 -2 in kills I need help I want to climb I love this game because this is the hardest game I’ve ever played and want the chance to play with a team who actually plays how it’s supposed to be played I watch countless amount of videos and it’s not helping as I’m hoping it will But I always enjoy your content

I'd really recommend checking out some of the lower elo coaching sessions on my Shok Coaching channel, good way to get a second perspective on issues that are probably similar to yours.
